Cheap comfort food! Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. I have been living in Costa Rica and found a slice of Americana in Bocas.

If you want a greasy spoon with raw hamburger this is the place for you! Bathrooms have no soap and you have to handle a key. Overpriced and if you must a pizza is your best bet.

I only had a batido (panamanian milkshake) in Golden and it was very good. The tiny little restaurant in the same area called Mama's cooking makes the best soup. The first day I got chicken soup and went back a couple of days later and they had beef soup. I am not sure what the secret ingredient is but both soups were delicious. I had to buy 2 servings ($3.00 each) because I needed more. My daughter who doesn't like soup decided to try it and loved it. She ended up eating half of my second serving!!! She wants to go back again today. They also make typical Panamanian food and it looked pretty good. May have to try that next.

I used to go there to get water from their machine until it started giving less and less and less water to the point that the amount dispensed was too ridiculous to ignore (it should be 25 cents for a gallon- was nowhere near that). I believe they've adjusted these machines on purpose to dispense less water so you spend more money to get the amount you need.
As far as food goes although the prices seem cheap when you look at the size of the food you realize its not so cheap because the portion sizes are absolutely ridiculous. I only bought a hot dog once and I never wanted to buy anything again. Thought it was cheap but turns out it was microscopic in size and so I realized it wasn't cheap but highly overpriced. The taste- nothing special either. Bottom line, this whole place is just one big rip off.

Needless to say, with prices as low as advertised, we shouldn't have expected to much.

The pancakes were heavy and lacked flavor. More syrup might have helped. The omelet was nothing but a flat bunch of eggs folded like a pocket square and tasted like rubber.

The service was slow, and the facilities dirty. Avoid.
