I couldn't find the name of the Indian restaurant at this Hotel listed separately so will write the review in this section.
After a hectic day of Diwali celebrations we needed a bite to eat and being Diwali most of the local Indian restaurants were closed. This left us little choice for Indian food, and we finally settled on the Vasant Continental as a likely candidate, we chose between Punjabi by Nature and this and I was a little skeptical about how this would be. Although they did not have any special Diwali menu and the restaurant was very very quiet, the menu was good and the staff excellent. The food was really fantastic, a mixed veg tandoori kebab platter to start, choley, chicken, dal fry, aloo gobi, veg biryani and raita. each dish was cooked to perfection and taste and texture was really quite fantastic. The danger of hotel restaurants is that everything tastes the same but this was like real home cooking!. We had a fantastic meal and the waiting staff were attentive and friendly. It is not cheap, but good value for money, and will definitely visit again. 7700 INR for 5 people incl beer.
