Grandmama cafe in Dadar is one cool looking cafe, which very unique interiors and retro look. This cafe is definitely alluring and catches a lot of attention. This particular outlet has both indoor and outdoor seating available.

I was invited here for trying out their breakfast menu. So first thing what I did is order one satisfying cup of hot chocolate.

Hot Chocolate with Marshmallow (Marshmallow Lovers)
This one was one of the best hot chocolate I have had in a very very long time and whoever had this idea of adding Marshmallows to this already perfect drink did a brilliant job.
Rating - 9/10

Midnight Mint (Mint Hot Chocolate)
The same hot chocolate with a dash of Mint, which gives a little aftertaste of mint.
Rating - 7/10

Irish Coffee
The classic espresso with non alcoholic whiskey syrup which is then topped with whipped cream.
Rating - 8/10

Garbanzo Bean Flour and Tomato Omelette
The classic besan cheela which is served along with ketchup, pickle and two slices of bread. It was decent to taste, nothing new here.
Rating - 7/10

Paneer Scramble
Scrambled cottage cheese with some turmeric, chilies, tomatoes and onions. Another word for it Paneer Bhurji. Served alomg with two slices of bread.
Rating - 6/10

Mac & Cheese
The original Mac n cheese pasta, served directly on a pan. It was cheesey and perfectly cooked. One of the things I would like to recommend here.
Rating - 9/10

Chocolate Hazelnut Cake
This one is a eggless dessert, which looks very beautiful and tastes divine as well.
Rating - 8/10

This place is a good choice for hanging out with your friends.

Grandmama’s Cafe – a quirky little cafe situated in Dadar (East), at a walkable distance from the Dadar Station. The moment you enter the place, the ambience and decor of the place will catch your attention. Various paintings, funky hanging lamps, and the green and white colour combination gives it a very refreshing look. Since the place is always crowded, you get time to take note of such things. There are 2 seating options – A/C and Non A/C, however getting a place in the AC Section is difficult and also has lot of waiting.

In starters we had the Chicken wings and Grandmama’s meatballs. The chicken wings were great, with the sweet and spicy sauce complimenting each other perfectly. Howeverm the meatballs were not that great.

In mains, we had the Pesto Basilica, which is a pasta served in basil pesto and has garlic and parmesan. It was quite tasty, however the quantity of the pasta was not that great. And also the time taken to serve the food is more, so you to wait for the food for a long time.

The one thing that you should definitely try at this place is the Chocolate Banana Oreo Shake. It was legendary and it is the one thing for which I shall definitely visit the place again. and the reason I am giving it 4/5 rating, as the overall service was quite poor.

Note:

1) Cost for 2 people - ₹1000 - ₹1200. Cash and Cards both accepted here.

2) The place is located on the road front, so finding a place for parking a car is difficult. For bikes, there is small place next to the cafe where you can park your bike.

3) Generally the place is crowded, so waiting time of 20 – 30 mins is minimum.
