I recently got a chance to attend an ayush homam (Child's first birthday )function performed at grt grand .
As soon as I entered the hotel , I taken aback by the breathtaking comfy interiors.
I proceeded to the first floor where the occasion was held .
It was a quaint occasion. We were served delicious milkshakes , coffee and tea in the ceremony hall. Lunch was served in the dining area .
The décor on the first floor has scope for further improvement with addition of some more paintings
The Lunch was served on banana leaves as it was traditional occasion.
The best aspects of the lunch were the malpua and jalebis .
The malpua was richly decorated with sliced pistas and seemed to melt in my mouth with a buttery taste . The jalebi with saffrons tasted heavenly
Yes it seemed that the standard lunch menu also included North Indian Sweets .
We were also offered ice creams ,fruit salad and dry Gulab Jamun on side
Rice was served with ghee and parrupu (dhal) initially followed by morkoyambhu(kadhi like dish ),rasam and curd rice. We were also offered papads, cabbage curry , parruppu usilli and ammai vadha on the side . I completely relished the cabbage curry, parruppu ussilli and vadha . Finally I finished off the lunch with payasam (kher)
The Morkoyabhu had a pinch extra turmeric powder and the payasam and potato fry also had scope for improvement .Maybe a pinch of saffron in the payasam would have done the magic. The potatoes perhaps needed a extra fry time :)
In Summation Lunch GRT grand proved to be a delight for me and my family
