The hotel does not look great from the outside and is on a busy road near the beach so we were not optimistic. We found all hotels in Recife about 30% more expensive than we normally pay in similar cities in Brazil and there do not seem to be many pousadas so we stayed there out of desperation rather than attraction.
The biggest drawback is that there is no elevator for a two story building and the stairs are a bit narrow. The room was comfortable and clean, clean sheets and towels every day, the TV worked (no international channels), aircon worked, frigo bar worked, the bathroom was OK. Unusually for a budget hotel everything more or less worked. The staff were helpful, it was not noisy and the breakfasts were OK.
To summarise, there was nothing great but everything was acceptable. We would go there again if we wanted to go to Recife again (unlikely) We paid R$100 per night. there is a sister hotel over the road which was full but charged a little less.More
