This is a first class hotel ; the staff really go out of their way to be helpful. The breakfast choice is really good , and you can sit on the terrace and watch the boats ferrying people up and down the river. A lovely retreat in a bustling city - the town was packed for the festival of Hari Raya, to celebrate the end of Ramadan.
The hotel worked with those visits with small children ,and I expect the rooftop infinity pool was a hit for them.
Special little touches were the air conditioned library, where one could retreat and have a free expresso coffee and read the many magazines made available.

Room Tip: the rooms overlooking the river are rather special

Great location on the river in central Melaka within walking distance to Jonker street and local restaurants. The river view rooms are worth paying the extra for as they are larger with a big balcony overlooking the river. Beautiful traditional rooms with Portuguese influence, comfortable beds, large bathroom with huge bath and shower. The breakfast was ok. You can pick one item from the menu to be freshly cooked ,then help yourself to everything else from the buffet. Amazing rooftop infinity pool /free internet.Friendly, helpful staff .This is the best and most expensive hotel in Melaka. Would stay again for location and quietness of hotel.

Room Tip: River view room

Stay 1 night at this excellent hotel at my hometown, Melaka as I won the lucky draw during my staff annual dinner.
For me, this hotel given a 5 stars hotel which I totally agreed with it. Once you step in to this hotel, the staffs will very welcome you and serve you with their special welcome drinks, something like ginger mixed with lemon and make it to ice ball, taste special and great!!!
The hotel staff guide us until to our room, well service as they will explain some of the facility among the hotel and your room. Talk about the room, perfect! Big, clean and comfortable. I strongly suggest to those couple to have their honeymoon at this hotel, specially their bath room. You see it, you gonna love it. Hahaha...
About the hotel facility, there are gym, spa and swimming pool. The equipment at the gym looks very new.I like the swimming pool, my wife and my 3 years old boy also enjoy at the pool side.
The best thing for foreign visitor is many places and nice foods around this hotel. Don't worry if you scare how to find those places as during your check-in time, the hotel will give you a welcome letter which behind of the letter is the map.
Overall, great hotel in Melaka. Keep it up and maintain your well service. Sure I will visit this hotel in the future.

Room Tip: Melaka city view please get higher floor. Melaka river view not bad but smelly as Melaka authority didn't well maintain the river.

We picked this hotel for its proximity to the UNESCO World heritage area of Melaka and Jonker Street. It was pricey but well worth it for a few days.
The outdoor reception and check-in by the pool with ginger and lime sorbets were lovely after the coach ride from KL. The hotel is actually very new but looks and feels like an historical building. We had a river-facing room with a balcony – so nice to be able to be able to sit out in the open and to get some fresh air into the room – but to also have air-con available for the heat of the day or at night. A nice touch that the turn down service includes keeping any mozzies at bay by closing the balcony doors and lighting some citronella candles. The king sized bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept in. The bathroom was large and lovely with a deep and huge tub and separate shower (with option of rainshower or hand-held outlet). The cinnamon soap is lovely – and the provision of a little plastic bag for you to take the remnants home with you suggests we are not alone in this opinion. Also liked the convenience of the separate dressing room too. One tip – if you are looking for non-herbal tea, there is a teapot and teabags in a drawer adjacent to the mini-bar fridge. And we would have preferred a nescafe etc option in addition to the local coffee sachets provided.
Breakfast room was nice with indoor or outdoor options; breakfast buffet was not as extensive as most hotels of this class but had a good range of a la carte options included in the price that you could order from. The tiffin lunch is a bargain at 37RM – just the place to escape after a hot morning exploring the sights almost all of which are an easy walk from the hotel. In the evening the hotel can arrange for the river cruise boat to pick you up from and return you to its own small jetty. The river cruise is an absolute must for seeing some of the restored historical houses/cafes/bars etc backing on to the river. We enjoyed it so much that the following night we walked along the adjacent footpath, re-tracing the same route.
Staff service was friendly, efficient and helpful. Thanks especially to the concierge, Mr Naguib who had lots of tips and was a real asset in arranging transport, including back to KLIA2.

Right next to the river and historical areas. And oh yes, and also Jonkers St which is where all the tour buses and day trippers converge. But Casa Del Rio is just slightly off the main drag and is not inadvertently sucked into of the Jonkers zone. The location of the hotel tempts you to a walk or boat ride along the river which you will not regret. It is also near museums and St Pauls Hill which is another highlight of the destination.
The hotel itself is well maintained and run. The room is adequately sized. Has everything i could expect from a 5 star hotel, except maybe a bluetooth sound system. But that minor shortfall is made up for in the sweetest of gestures esp their turndown servce that leaves many notable touches not seen in any big brand resorts. Staff were very pleasant, helpful and try very hard. Definitely a key feature of this hotel.
