Finding the place could be some work as it's hidden under it's own theme (I guess that's how they want to be). They are at Heeren Street, right next to Courtyard @ Heeren. It's an absolute surprise once you find it and get inside. It's mesmerizing and beautiful. We got a perfect spot, under the open roof. It was so dreamy. The food was awesome and the staff was lovely. If you're visiting Malacca, you have to find The Baboon House. I can guarantee, you'll be delighted. After our meals we talked to the staff for some time and they explained why they restrict photography inside the restaurant. Still visitors take pictures with staff not knowing. Do not do that, if you visit. Respect the place and rules. All in all a lovely time to remember. Will definitely visit again.

A historical house converted into uniquely decorated restaurant with plants and art elements.  I enjoyed a special beef burger with lemongrass homemade drink in a quiet and relaxing atmosphere.
A little hard to find as Google has positioned incorrectly. Look at the homepage for the right address.

We sauntered in to the Baboon House, all 8 hungry travelers, well past 2 pm on a Saturday afternoon. We stood outside the door of what seemed liked someone's house and rang the bell several times before it was answered. We were finally greeted by a young lad who said we would have to wait in the outer chamber of what looked like an art gallery whilst our table would be set. A sign forbidding any photography was pointed out to us . In anticipation of what was to come, we walked through the arched doorway into a central courtyard and we were all immediately struck by how simply the whole place was done up with old artefacts and knick knacks and art pieces obviously collected over time. The Baboon House prides itself on serving burgers- freshly made, with breads and parties that have fresh ingredients. The juices were freshly squeezed and the burgers were beyond divine . We sampled lamb burgers, hash browns, pork burgers, mushroom portobello burgers and they were all made beautifully. We loved the quaint aura of mystery the place had. I onlh wish the waiting staff were a little more well informed as anything we asked, he needed to go back to check for . A place I would recommend the burger lover to go and try - not your overloaded, greasy , hugely sized portion but a fresh and tasty home made style one!

The shop front can be hard to find, as the signboard is carved on wood with plenty of greenery around it. We had to backtrack to find it eventually.

Once inside, the place has a unique ambience full of old world charm. Food-wise, the burgers and drinks were delicious, and it's definitely a good place to chill out to escape the heat! We left feeling very satisfied.
