My group of friends and I stayed at Vomo for a week in February this year. It was perfect for us as we were looking for somewhere fairly close to home as we did not want to lose too much time travelling, yet also wanted a tropical island.
The resort was about to soft close to allow for some renovation work to occur so on our last night we were the only guests in the hotel.
The rooms have recently been renovated and well equiped with everything you need, including unlimited Fiji water. The room rate includes washing and folding of laundry daily, something you don't find very often in hotels. We had a beach front villa and our friends had the adjoining villa, which meant we were able to spend time together on the verandah looking out to sea. This room type is in blocks of two so if you are travelling with children you could book both and use the interconnecting door.
Our room rate included all meals (three courses for each meal) so we were never hungry - quite the opposite. The quality of the food was outstanding even though the resort was shutting down.
The snorkelling here is amazing and can be done even from the beachfront of the resort.
There is an amazing bar facing the sunset where we had cocktails each night which also made our stay rather special.
There is nothing else nearby so all meals, drinks and activities are limited to the resort but we were happy with this.
To make the stay a little more special we took a helicopter to and from the resort, a trip of around fifteen minutes (much quicker than boat). This also maximised our time at the resort. On the day we left we were having lunch on the beach at the resort and dinner in Sydney!
