If you claim to care about the ocean and mangrove habitats then you- the OWNER of BAD should not throw your cigarette butt into the water. You are arrogant, I hope more people will see through your facade and not dive with you.

It's not really 'real' diving, since you sit on the bottom, just watching the shark feed. But man, it's cool! We saw lemon sharks, nurse sharks, bull sharks, grey sharks, reef sharks... and tons of other fish.

If you're in FIji, head for the shark dive!

We did 4 dives 2 am shark dives and 2pm coral dives - they were like diving with two different companies....

We were picked up from the hotel and checked in for the shark dive - it was a little confusing as we were told we could not take any bags on the boat but others were told they could - this was a little annoying as we were being dropped of at the dock on the way back as we were diving in the pm too....i think this part could have been more clear.

The briefing for the shark dive from Pappa and the feed were amazing - very professionally and safely carried out and we were very impressed - there were a lot of sharks at three different levels we did and safety was clearly important to them - we got some great photos and had a wonderful time even thought we did not get to see the big tiger shark.... i do have one niggle, as a working dive instructor i was a little concerned that it appeared very inexperienced divers were happily allowed to do this dive - it is great that the company is trying to share this experience with as many people as possible but i do worry - the company's website does state you need 30 dives with at least 5 at the 30m/100ft depth or you must be supervised but i honestly cannot recall that being done.

overall it was a great experience with a good boat, safety and dive briefing and the sharks were fab - well worth the money.

However the afternoon dives were completely different - firstly they were very late picking us up - approximately 45 minutes late - we had got the hotel to call them for us once - they were not particularly apologetic and there was a bad atmosphere on the boat - no safety or boat briefing was given - we got to the first site chosen and they had trouble getting the mooring which does happen ( i think another boat had cut the line by accident) so we had to go to a different site -Golden Arch - there was a strong current - and we were told that the currents always pick up and become stronger in the afternoon ( something i cannot recall being mentioned on their website) and as we were now about an hour behind schedule the current was worse than it should have been.

We are both working instructors so were not too fazed by this but i was a little unhappy to find we were swimming over rubble for the first 5 mins or so and that the guide had disappeared into the distance. We finished our dive on our own...I was told by the guide that i swim too slowly - i was taking pictures.....

I appreciate that they have a route to do and have to deal with all levels of divers but i think the guide was not as good as he could have been in this regard.

For the second dive the guide asked us if we were going to do our own thing - when we said no we were going to follow he actually sighed and said he would prefer us not to!! Again no big deal for us but he was also happy to let another individual go off and dive on his own as a solo diver ( yes the guy was a dive master but that is not the point) so guess what we pretty much had to alter our dive to keep the solo diver in view as we were not comfortable with this.....

This second dive site was ET with an archway to swim through - boy did we have to work really hard to get through this against the current and for the safety stop we had to physically hold on the line ( we were at a right angle to the line) we found this to be fun but we have thousands of dives all over the world but we did not think the level of safety, professionalism and service was very good - in fact it was extremely poor.

My overall view - if you are an experienced diver you would be fine - but if you want to follow the guide you are going to have to go fast ( no photo taking) and hope for the best....

This place is best known for its shark dives, with good reason! The dive center started a reef conservation project some years ago in collaboration with the local village, which has improved the conditions for the fish here. The center also has a great philosophy about teaching people about shark in a respectful way to make the society aware of the fact that they are not dangerous to humans, and that they are worth protecting.

The staff is very professional, and even though it was thrilling and a bit scary, I always felt well protected and safe. Divers sit on the side behind a line, either with the backs to a wall, or behind a stone "fence" while the staff feed the sharks a few meters away. Other staff also protects the group with iron sticks to poke the sharks with if they come too closely. It was truly amazing to see so many of these huge creatures so close. The shark types here are bullshark (many!), nursesharks, and lemon sharks. One can see tiger sharks there too, but not this time, unfortunately.

I would really recommend this to anybody who wants a unique dive experience!

We went on a soft coral dive and shark dive over two days with B.A.D. and they were great on both occasions. All the dive masters are very experienced and knowledgable, and I felt safe diving with them. The shark dive was particularly amazing, we saw at least 5 species of shark so close you could touch them (if you were crazy). However, I would recommend taking as much of your own gear as possible as theirs is very well-worn. A couple of the people we dived with used the 3mm wetsuits provided and they were freezing by the end of the first dive so we lent them our sharkskin hoodies. We were diving in winter, but our 7-5mm wetsuits kept us comfortably warm. Great experience though!
