Lovely boutique B and B - checked in early
Stayed in the loft room which was compact but everything was there that you would need. House itself is a little tired and could do with a lick of paint. Owners Po and Kenny really helpful, although forgot to leave us promised breakfast on our last morning! Great location for restaurants.

The BnB is very cozy and located in the quiet but trendy French quarter. The owner was very helpful and gave us good suggestions on how to spend our day. Note that, as other reviews have mentioned, the room we stayed in was tiny. It was fine for 2 people but it would be crowded for any more.
We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to others visiting Shanghai.

Great rooms. Well equipped and great decor. Spotlessly clean. Rooms are on the smaller side, but the hotel more than makes up for this is in an great location (in the heart of the French Quarter, near the metro and the streets are wonderful to walk round at night but private, set back from the street and quiet). Good breakfast, and lunch is highly recommended. The staff are all extremely friendly. We had a lot of travel trouble whilst we were there (nothing to do with the hotel) and the owners & their staff helped us out a lot. We were initially booked into a large hotel near the bund, but so glad we came here for a more homely, and individual experience. Highly recommended and would stay there again in a heartbeat.

We spent 4 nights here on our first trip to Shanghai and the first impressions were great - the responses to my queries via email were extremely prompt, the booking was painless and directions and plans for checking in were explained in detail as we were arriving after the reception had closed.

When we arrived (and we got there before the reception closed), we received a great welcome and that was the start of the wonderful hospitality. Po was always around to answer questions, provide suggestions and recommendations and have a general chat. He showed a genuine interest in his guests. I loved the map of the area we received which showed all the restaurants and attractions.

We stayed in Joffre room and it was extremely comfortable with everything provided that you could possibility need. The breakfast was delicious too!

The location couldn't be better - 5mins or 10mins walk to the metros (which are on 3 different lines), a bank and Starbucks is across the road, close to great variety of restaurants and the area around is lush and green thanks to the avenues of oak trees - a lot calmer than the busy shopping streets. Once you go through the wooden doors, it is tranquil and you escape the hustle and bustle of the city.

This was our first visit to Shanghai from nearby Suzhou, and the Quintet was the perfect place to stay. Po and Kenny took excellent care of us. They provided a map and list of nearby restaurants and attractions. It's in a great location-about 5 minutes walking to the subway, plenty of great restaurants, and lots of shops and cafes on the way.

Room was cozy and well taken care of with a portable heater for the bathroom, which was appreciated. Bath tub took a LONG time to fill because of low water pressure, but it was a great way to relax after the busy city of Shanghai. Can't wait to return!

Room Tip: We didn't stay in the 3F loft, but it looks amazing!--No bath tub, but it has its own private outdoor seating.
