We stayed here for 3 nights and without a doubt, it would have been the best hotel I have stayed in, anywhere in the world. The food was great and the staff superb. I was at reception and asked if the pens in the room were free to take and the reponse was yes (I actually liked writing with them - very good quality). Later I returned to my room and there were 2 boxed pens in the room for me to take. What attention to detail - the staff should be congratulated as it is the small things that impress!!! The location was perfect and the food was great. The toilets in the room were amazing as they were totally electronic down to drier and heated seats ... enough said. Again great stay and will definately be back.

We were surprised how this hotel mixed the old charms and new facilities. The services were excellent. The Grand Brassiere served great breakfast. The fifth floor Chinese cuisine might be a weaker offer when you can have so many choices in the Bund. The location is so great among the historical buildings and you are steps from the panoramic Huangpu as well as Pudong skylines.
At the back one can appreciate the old Shanghai. You can get to the people's square easily and mingle with the locals.

Room Tip: You have to arrive by back as there is no direct vehicle access to the hotel at the bund.

its magnificent along with the other legendary buildings along the bund ... but walking from that entrance all the way to the front desk for check-in takes 7-8mins which can be taxing if u're travelling with a toddler.... moreover its not a straight road, there are few stairs which you have to handle ..... the only consolation is that u see a lot of smiling faces from their staff along the way .....

the room is very nicely furnished, equipped with modern amenities, espresso machine, beautiful bathtub, huge tv which you can surf the internet .... the room looks out to the view of the bund which is really pretty at night .....

b'fast selection is slightly lesser than i expected ... but quality is good. Overall service is tops!

Thank you for staying with us, indeed the vistas of the Bund and Pudong skyline from our River view accommodations are spectacular as well as unrivalled. It is one of our vantage points aside from the convenience of our location with culture and history at door step. The friendliness of our staff and our high standards of service have always brought our customers back, we hope you will be one of them.

I have visited the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai a few times to look at it and to eat at the Coffee Shop. Fabulous! One of the nicest hotels I have visited. I don't know how the rooms are, but based on the other parts of the hotel I would guess it is all excellent.
