We had a junior suite with a nice sit out looking straight out to the Arenal Volcano. That was the only redeeming feature here. The Lodge sits on a huge property and it takes 10 minutes to get to the property from the main road and you are at least 30 minutes from La Fortuna where all the activity and Restaraunt’s are. The main building is wooden and the rooms have wooden floors and high wooden ceilings. You can hear the folks in the rooms next to you. WiFi is slow. Breakfast is the standard fare with a very small spread. The staff is friendly

Thanks for commenting.
We apologise if your experience was not what you were expecting for a mountain lodge 20 minutes away from town.
Arenal Lodge an unic place where you can find a real mountain lodge away from the noice of the city, but not to far to visit it. with the best view of the Arenal volcano.
In Arenal Lodge you wil find good prices, with brekfast included.
Breakfast include natural juice, eggs, toast, frech fuit, Gallo pinto (rise and beans), cereal, pancakes, breakfast sousage, etc.
You can also enjoy our trails, Spa, Horse back riding etc.

We were disappointed by how foggy Arenal was when we went. The staff made a rainy day stuck in a hotel more fun than we would have thought possible. The night receptionist was excellent and remembered our names and the morning reception kept the fire warm for us. I would return again!

The setting for he Lodge and the views were fantastic. The rooms were nice, but there was no restaurant on site. The breakfast was good and the staff was very nice. A very nice place to relax and enjoy the view.

Issue with “volcano watching” is often having to wait for the clouds to clear. What better way than from the lodge restaurant feasting on value priced gourmet meals. My wife and I recently enjoyed a great lunch and were eventually rewarded with a clear view of Arenal from our table. To get there you need to be alert for the sign while keeping your car on the windy substandard road. You go through a guard gate and up a narrow twisting road for about 5-10 minutes before arriving at lodge. The views and colorful, well kept grounds are worth the trip. You can eat or sleep there for average US prices.

Room Tip: Get room facing volcano

We stayed here for 3 days and if you are travelling to La Fortuna this is well worth the drive out of La Fortuna town. This hotel is set high up in the most beautiful grounds make sure you find time to explore. We saw so many hummingbirds. Excellent, friendly service with great food. I had an amazing aromatherapy massage which was made even better by the stunning views across to the volcano. Thank you Arenal Lodge for being so amazing loved my stay here so relaxing.

Room Tip: Junior suites that overlook the beautiful garden and volcano.
