I had been staying at hostels throughout CR. Landed at the Bosco midweek due to good price. They ended up honoring the rate all weekend. Good food, helpful staff. The sushi restaurant attached was delicious. The housekeeping staff made towel animals and made me feel quite welcome. Fast food restaurant across the street at amazing quesadillas!

Tiny double room (19) - the bed took up most of the room. Not a single bit of storage or anywhere to put two large travel bags apart from one on the small amount of floor space and one on the chair. Bed was so close to the wall (less than 1 foot away) I had to walk sideways to get into it. Two bath towels but no hand towels. Fine for one person but a squash for 2 people with suitcases and day packs.

On the plus side, it is close to all the restaurants and shops, and it does have a pool (didn't use it).

As already said in another review, loo paper has to go in a waste bin. There is no fridge (no space in the room) although there was an ice bucket. Only 2 plug sockets (of which one was in the bathroom).

Location location location (and you get what you pay for). This place could be considered excellent or a total dump depending on your expectations. If you want a romantic hideaway with beautiful views of the forest right outside your window/patio/balcony this is not the place. If however you want to be in the heart of La Fortuna close to everything from the bank, supermarket, restaurants etc. then this is pretty good.

Most of the fancier hotels are are nestled in the mountains so are a bit far away if you want to get a bite to eat outside the hotel. Cabs are expensive if you're not driving - nothing lower than $10 most of the time. That being said, the rooms are threadbare. Almost like a hostel. There is not even a box of tissues. Also beware, you have to put the toilet paper in a waste basket and not flush it - this is fairly common in a lot of places in south America but if you're not used to it then it might come as a shock to you (PS: you'll get used to it).

The rooms though threadbare are clean and there is a split AC in case it gets hot and humid. What you get for the price is pretty decent. They have excellent breakfast buffet every morning. The front desk staff is very helpful in booking tours and trips. If you just want a place to sleep, this is an excellent spot. (PS: try to avoid the rooms in the front if you're a light sleeper, road noise with traffic could bother you, e.g. room 11).

If you are a single traveler this is a good spot. Although in hindsight after talking to single travelers I would have stayed at the hostel Selina.

Room Tip: Rooms near the front desk can get noisy. I'd get something in the upper levels.

Can't beat the location in Fortuna. Many great restaurants within walking distance. Spa Herrera literally 1 or 2 minutes walking from the inn.

The inn itself was slightly disappointing. The towels in our room were not clean. They smelled like body odor from the previous guests. Disgusting!

Breakfast was decent but nothing to brag about. Basically par for the course in Costa Rica.

I do need to give credit where credit is due though. The guys at the front desk were very helpful to us. Five stars for those guys!

Pretty average hotel. Lacking a fridge in the room. Great location to walk everywhere in town though. We had to stand on the street to smoke, you can't even sit on your balcony on the property to have one- so bonus for the non smokers:) the staff were friendly, decent breakfast. Never swam in the pool or saw anyone else doing so. Great place to have a sleep and use the shower that's about it!!
