This place has everything going for it. Our room was clean and comfortable, and looked out onto lawns and trees that were alive with gorgeous birds. We also had a little trail of leaf cutter ants bustling past. It was amazing to just sit and take it all in. The pool was elegant and at one end were the hot springs, a cascade of little pools that you could lounge in with a cocktail or a glass of fizz. The restaurant was not cheap, but the food was first rate and such an innovative menu. Loved the steak marinaded in coffee. However the meal of the day had to be breakfast, not so much for the food but for the spectacle of the birds..... You needed to be down to breakfast for 6.30am as a member of staff came out and put out pieces of banana at a large feeding station so you could sit and eat your breakfast and watch the birds having theirs. We saw parakeets, chachalacas, guans, woodpeckers. passerinis tanagers. the montezuma bird and the stunningly pretty blue grey tanagers to name but a few! What a lovely way to start the day! Thanks to the staff for making us so comfortable.

This hotel is intimate, has internet in the rooms, TV, air conditioning and a floral display awaited us at checkin. Like all CR hotels we have stayed in , there are not enough hooks but here, plenty of hangars in the closet. Our room opened onto a patio and since the birds are fed fruit we were treated to numerous visits. Coffee in the room, why don't all hotels do this here? Decent food served buffet style but did you really come for the food? Hated to leave. Lovely, lovely.

We loved our stay here. Great rooms. Private thermal hot tub was an excellent add-on. Gorgeous property! We do not return to many places but definitely plan on returning here but with the kids next time!!

We enjoyed the Arenal Volcano area very much as part of our
Costa Rica Trip. I have stated in my opinion the Pros and
Cons of this hotel:

Pros:
Beautiful Grounds
Very Clean
Loved our Junior Suite Room with the Private Hot Spring Tub
Nice Pool Area
Good Service other than the unfriendly check in person
Good Location

Cons:
Breakfast was plentiful, but just ok in taste, therefore we passed on dinner
Shower hot water goes out quickly
Needs to have a more welcoming check in
Unless you can make the happy hour, cheapest beer is $6, cheapest wine glass is $8
Needs to have more simple dinner options other than the one fine
dining restaurant prices

Overall, we did enjoy our stay at this hotel and considering it was less
than $1000 dollars for a 4 night stay in a junior suite, we felt it was
very good value.

Very nice resort with hot springs that aren't busy and a restaurant that has tasty food for any time of the day. While taking a taxi into town is $20 there and back, you really are right in the middle of the town and all the awesome activities / tours (by the way having a list of activities provided at check-in was very helpful, and booking them was a breeze). The only thing is that the WiFi was the weakest (mostly non-existent in the room) of any of the hotels we stayed at in Costa Rica. In any case, this was a very nice stay, and Estefany at the front desk helped us with everything and clearly works very hard - she was amazing!
