We stayed here for 6 nights in March - Absolutely Fantastic time! I am not a regular review writer but, wanted to give back a review, as I use Trip Advisor to do a lot of research before we make trip plans, and this was one of the Best Trips we have been on as a family!
It was our first trip to CR, wanted beach but also a lot of activities as our family is adventurous - wife and I, and kids 13, 11, 8. We have been many places in MX, Jamaica, and US, but wanted something different, safe, and also wanted to see Rainforest.
The BEST part of our trip - all of the activities we enjoyed in CR! We connected with Minor Gonzalez with Major Tours CR - he works right outside of the Mville resort. I set things up with him initially before our trip to make sure there was availability of the activities we wanted to do. He was Awesome and came thru for us on all that we could fit in! In 5 days we road ATVs (on 2 different occasions because our kids couldn't get enough), snorkel and sunset sailed, whitewater tubed, ziplined, rode horses, went to a volcano tour and saw the Celeste waterfall, hiked, saw monkeys, visited a family owned coffee farm, saw sloths, rainforest frogs, viper, and more - we booked all of these thru Minor. We will Definitely be back for more - I highly recommend you get ahold of him for yourself and he can give you all the info. Very personable, and came thru for us on all accounts! We also booked our transfers to/from Liberia airport thru Minor. Our experience with him and the excursions/activities we went on has been our best family vacation yet!
Margaritaville was great as well, however we didn't spend a lot of time there, but we did still manage to get some good pool and beach time in! Beach there is Awesome and feels like it is part of the resort, although the beach is technically across the small access road. 1 thing to note - if you like to body or boogie board, better plan on bringing or buying your own boards - you won't get them thru the hotel.
When I booked this resort, we decided to go all inclusive, even though we knew we were going to do a lot outside of resort. Food was good! Not huge selection, but no complaints! For breakfast buffet, they rotate different dishes available each morning, so it is Not the same thing every morning! They do have fruits, breads, and an omlette station every morning, and you can enjoy breakfast outside watching and listening to the waves. Italian restaurant was our favorite and the dishes and pizza were fantastic! Be Aware you need to make reservations for the Italian restaurant, and it does not open until the evening. We sure wish they would have served pizzas for lunch afternoon, but they don't.
The resort has a nice smaller feel to it which we liked, was kept clean and our room was taken care of very well! No complaints.
Getting long winded, I know, but wanted to hit the highlights. We will definitely be back! This was truly a Pura Vida vacation!!
