Amazing Place! we only stayed one night before heading to the airport but this was by far the best hotel we stayed in during our 2 week trip, actually the best hotel in Tamarindo! The staff & owners were all very kind and helpful, the bungalows are beautiful, the view stunning, the grounds were lush and manicured, the pool was great to sit in and view the sunset. Also the coffee and breakfast was great. We drove easily into Tamarindo in 5 minutes as well, we will be back!More

We stayed 5nights including New Year’s Eve.Virginia organised a driver ,a restaurant booking for NYE which was fantastic.She also reccomend3d and booked another 2 restaurants and day drives to nearby beaches.It was nice to stay here out of the busy town ,so peaceful and quiet .The bed was super comfy ,room was always super clean and we would not hesitate to return

Spent a week at this beautiful resort and can’t say enough about how amazing the experience was. Rooms were clean and the beds were super comfy, breakfast was so yummy we looked forward to it every morning, pool had the most beautiful views, and location is the best of both worlds - up in the mountain with the views and just a 5 minute drive to the beach. Also, can’t say enough great things about the staff… seriously felt like family by the time we left. We’re already planning our next trip back to Pacific Kalokairi!

We were lucky enough to stay 7 nights at Pacific Kalokairi!
From the moment you arrive, they welcome you with a smile and you feel that they are happy to see you!
The hotel is on a hill surrounded by jungle. Our villa was amazing, the grounds are spotless, facilities are excellent, and the staff are simply the best service-oriented and most friendly staff we've ever encountered. We splurged on their best type of room and had a private balcony, sitting on the balcony and sipping coffee in the mornings, listening to howler monkeys, and nature waking up, we saw wild birds and butterflies fly by, and the ocean in the distance.
At that point the staff became like family. They remember your name and food/drink preferences. We got into some great conversations with some of the staff. All the staff were wonderful, but there were some (who we saw on a daily basis) that went above & beyond to make our trip amazing! Virginia and Sylvia are superstars!
All staff was amazing, everyone aims to please, the room is impeccable, well appointed with the incredible view from the room… everything was perfect!
We have literally fell in love with this resort, it is truly magical. It was heartbreaking when it was a time to go home.
We already want to go back.

Our 4 night stay at Pacific Kalokairi was nothing short of exceptional!
For the final leg of our Costa Rica trip we stayed at Pacific Kalokairi just outside of Tamarindo. The access road was pretty straightforward compared to other such roads in Costa Rica. The last 100m or so is a steep climb, but totally paved.. no big deal. The property is fully gated so when you arive, hit the buzzer and one of the staff will open the main gate. Parking is a breeze.
The grounds here are immaculate. The pool area where breakfast is served is gorgeous. The Infinity pool over looks the town of Tamarindo and the ocean in the distance.
The rooms .. wow ! Perfect size for a king suite. Each is its own villa with all of the luxury touches your expect from a high end spot. We booked an ocean view room so the balcony overlooks the pool and had amazing sunsets every night.
The staff are really what makes Pacific Kalokairi special. Everyone really cares about the guest experience and treats you like a member of the family. Charlie the resident black lab is such a good boy too!
We booked an excursion and a coue of massages through the property .. all seemless
I've stayed at hundreds of differt hotels and propertys over the years and Pacific Kalokairi ranks up there will the best of the best. After 4 days we didn't want to leave!
When we checked out we took a few extra minutes to say goodbye to everyone .. it just felt so much like home Thank you for an outstanding experiance! I hope we get a chance to come back and reconnect.

I would consider this more of a boutique luxury AirBnB type rather than a hotel. It's a very homey, comfortable environment, run by a small, engaging and very friendly staff!
We came from a very long drive from Monteverde and took the 'wrong' road up which was super unpaved and bumpy and this spot is located on a steep hill, so when we arrived we were a little hesitant because there's no 'lobby' instead it is the kitchenette area/pool'bar' area and (like most of Costa Rica) stairs to get to the bungalow at the top of the hill - GRATEFULLY one of the staff, very expertly, grabbed both of our suitcases and hauled it up for us at the same time.
You'll be greeted by happy Charlie (the dog) and Sylvia who was the head host and she's very knowledgable about all things Tamarindo with great recommendations! We used the infinity pool every day, sometimes multiple times - so convenient and refreshing...it's also the only singular thing to do on the property besides being in the room. I have a lot of love for this spot, just painting the picture for managed expectations!
As mentioned, the road up is very steep, we didn't find ourselves coming and going as often as we would have liked because it was not comfortable - highly recommend renting a car (necessary if you're going to be travelling between cities anyways) however Kalokairi does offer a shuttle service throughout the day - not sure of the terms as we didnt utilize it.
