We got the Romantic Star room for our own private balcony with daybed and jacuzzi. It turned out not to be so private as these types of rooms are all stacked together so you can see in one another’s daybeds. Also you can hear everything (as in everything!!) your neighbors are doing. We thought that since this was an adults only hotel it would be less noisy, but it was not! My neighbors were doing it all day long. Also, we had many neighbors smoking which ruined being outdoors (smoking is banned on balconies but the hotel didn’t do anything about it). On the plus side, the included breakfast and 3 course dinner were absolutely amazing. The dinners felt like they were from Michelin star restaurants. With some explanation, the chef was able to accommodate my gluten free vegan diet. I loved every meal. The staff at the restaurant were by far the nicest of the places we stayed. The view from the hotel lobby is stunning. And the hotel has its own private beach at Tamarindo, there were rarely more than 5-6 other hotel guests there when we were. The private beach area is definitely worth it! However you have to walk across a high traffic street anytime you walk to the private beach, which felt dangerous. This was not shown in pictures or mentioned on the site. And they lock you out of using the keycard 15 mins before checkout so make sure not to be at the beach or town before you need to checkout!!

Dear NETravels: We greatly appreciate your preference towards our boutique hotel.
We are a small boutique hotel, and our rooms are distributed out among the main building, and the garden area. We lament the misconception in regards the terrace privacy - as each room enjoys the private use of its room balcony; nevertheless - we do not offer private villas but hotel rooms.

We would have appreciated you sharing your discomfort during your stay - and with this, have had an opportunity to improve your stay.

Finally, we dearly thank you for highlighting our Chef and kitchen efforts to accommodate your needs - to keep your wellbeing as much as possible and to make you feel like at home.

We kindly treasure the compliments made to our remarkable staff, as well as our well taken care of facilities. Best regards.

The place was wonderful! We especially liked the kitchen and bar staff, Endy was our fav and the most smiley and remembered our fav food. The front desk lady was not that friendly, we understand the need to be professional, but there’s better ways to be nice to customers-that was our only negative experience. Otherwise it was beautiful place and I highly recommend

This was one of the best hotels that my wife and I have stayed in for vacation. It started with check in with Leonardo and Ann welcoming us. They were very accomodating and helpful in explaining the property and ammendites. Next was the resturant staff for breakfast Endy, Gerald Donielo, Mainor, Eliza and the dinner staff of Nancy, Richard and the Chef! The staff is the best! Including housekeeping; definitly in our book they get 100%. Thanks Guys.

Room tip: You can go wrong with any of the rooms. There are stairs, senior citizen should avoid the higher rooms with a view of the ocean.

Absolutely loved our stay at Jardin Del Eden. The grounds are gorgeous - it feels like you’re in a jungle even though you’re a block from the beach. Food was fantastic - breakfast and dinner are included with your stay, and they have great burgers for lunch. A couple of nitpicks include inconsistent water pressure in the shower and a very cramped gym (which is actually part of a neighboring hotel so could be more convenient), but both of those were more than made up for by the amazing staff. Shout outs to Endy, Leonardo, Gerald, Nathaly, and Eli, who continually went above and beyond for me and my girlfriend throughout our stay.

The hotel facility overall is ok, but there are many things that are disappointing.

The rooms look nice but are cheap compared to the competition:
-there's no real door on the bathroom, so you have to listen to your partner peeing/pooping.
-The beds are rock hard. After the first night my shoulders were sore from trying to sleep on my -side.
-The door to the room is paper thin, and we were woken up very early in the morning by the sound of the cleaning crews slamming doors and rolling their carts down the hallway. Had to use ear plugs the next night.

In terms of customer service, the hotel is again mediocre for the price.
-The wait staff and the restaurant is tired and uninterested. Some are downright surly.
-Even though I arranged it weeks in advance via several emails, and received a confirmation number, THE CONCIERGE DESK FORGOT TO ARRANGE FOR OUR AIRPORT PICKUP. So, instead of a comfortable trip from the airport to the hotel to start our fun vacation, we had to scramble realizing we'd been abandoned! We ended up taking a smelly local taxi for the one hour ride to Tamarindo. Very very disappointing way to start our vacation!
-They similarly lost/forgot our reservations for other planned activities.
The hotel apologized for these mistakes, but that didn't offset our disappointment.

For the price, there are better places.
