This property is quite extensive with lots going for it but it is in need of significant upgrades and facelift. Had dinner in restaurant attached to casino and it was surprisingly good. Staff at front desk was very friendly and accommodating. We stayed a couple of nights and changed rooms due to issue with the toilet. Carpets very old. Beds were very good though and the pools nice to hang out at. Here's hoping they are able to put some money into the place and bring it up to date. Shuttle to airport took about 15 minutes (at 430am).

I went to Costa Rica in 2019 for about 3 months and I got to stay at this Wyndham and it was lots of fun. I absolutely loved hanging out at the pool. And just as a side note this hotel is near the San Jose, Costa Rica airport.

Room tip: Near the San Jose Costa Rica airport

I chose this hotel because of the Alamo car rental office inside.
The hotel is an 80s throw back. It's tired looking and in desperate need of a full refurb. The lobby still looks ok, but it ends there. The bar / pub closed at 5pm, so no dinner there. The Japanese restaurant is long gone. Hard Rock Café, closed. The international restaurant was open, and my wife and I may have been the only two dinners served that Friday night. The food was good thank goodness, as we had turned our car back in to Alamo and the thought of walking 10 minutes in that area of town in the dark was not appealing.
This would have been a wonderful place in 1980, maybe even into the early 90s, but don’t waste your time and money here.

The pool area looks nice but not clean. Room had hole in wall where a blow-dry should be. Had to borrow one from a neighbor. Toilet took several flushes. Front desk guy difficult to deal with, had to ask four times for something, seemed overwhelmed, not able to multitask, unfriendly. Business center did not work to print Covid rapid test results. Meat and vegetables tasty, dessert gross. Xavier, the server, was awesome. Attentive, pleasant.

Room tip: Ask to see room first.

I've been a fan of this place for many years. Great events, music, food, etc.
Unfortunately, the pandemic has done a number on this iconic hotel's infrastructure. However, the staffers' good spirit dedication and good honest customer service make up for anything else. The crew who took care of us were nothing but outgoing, proactive and sensitive to our needs.
Please remember these names; Adrian & Mario - Front desk
Patricia & Reyna- House Keeping , Josue -Jazz, Pedro & Fernando - Quattro.
During the 8 days we were under the care of this hard working group of people we were treated like jet setters. We trust this place will come back strong. I'm looking forward to my next trip to Costa Rica and stay with here again.
