This is a wonderful hotel, giving parents just the right touch of luxury and rest while letting kids be kids.
Everyone who works at Si Como No loves their job and was happy to make our stay enjoyable. I recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Manuel Antonio.

We had a great stay with our family of 4 (2 boys ages 6 and 11). The service is terrific, especially at the Rico Tico Grille ( Cesar, Carlos, Allen, and the open air coooking done by Isabel Alba and Reimu). The setting is lush and beautiful - tropical vegetation, large leafy plants, gorgeous flowers in bloom lining the walkways and pool everywhere, walkways throughout the property. The breakfast was delicious - omlets, freshly prepared local rices/vegetables/sauces and fruits (especially the papaya!). The servers all got to know us and happily spoke with us about our day. The pool was great, lush setting with a water slide and swim up bar. Yes it did get a bit crowded after 2 PM or so, but we did several excursions in the afternoon so it wasn't a problem for us, mornings and early afternoons were fine sometimes no one at the pool at all. I loved the trees (avacado, mango) and all the birds --many times I saw a pair of macaws just flying by while I was having coffee or sitting by the pool. I also saw a bunch of monkeys on the property. Regarding the many steps - yes they are there but my 6 yr old was on crutches and they have a ramp leading from the entry to the pool/breakfast that he used regularly. For the 3-4 star rating of the hotel, the setting and service were beyond my expectations...I had been a bit concerned about this from reading several reviews but this is a really nice place. The lobby setting, the stained glass, the unexplainable beuaty of the views was just remarkable. We did several excursions - Manual Antonio park, Mangrove Tour, Night Frog Tour across the street, and the catamaran tour that were super fun. We walked down the road several times to local restaurants and shops which was fun and unique. You know when you go there that the room wi-fi is spotty and the place isn't on the beach, but when you get there this doesn't matter as so many other factors are impressive. The room is comfortable and clean - not 5 star luxury which it doesn't claim to be - but honestly it doesn't matter as the view from the balcony is fantastic and the room is very comfortable. I highly recommend this resort based on the service, the setting, and the location to many things to do - it's a friendly, non-chain original hotel that really does a great job.

Room Tip: We were on the top level with a handicap room which was much appreciated, although the top level rooms are near the road which can be a bit noisy.

Dear Julie R,

Thank you for your encouraging review of our resort. We are happy to see you and your family thoroughly enjoyed our comfortable accommodations and jungle terraces overlooking the Pacific coastline vistas. Located in the heart of Manuel Antonio, we are home to many different species of wildlife, ranging from the macaws you mentioned, to our white-faced monkeys and sloths. Thank you for mentioning that we are a ¨friendly, non-chain original hotel.¨ It is our mission to offer each guest an authentic experience as members of Greentique Hotels. We hope to see you again soon!

Best,

This was our second visit and we NEVER stay at the same place twice! The pool is a huge draw for kids, the happy hour a draw for the parents who are forced to watch their kids and the views, in general (from anywhere) are amazing! The adult pool is a nice respite from the chaos of the kids pool! The restaurant and hotel staff are friendly and accommodating. The bus stop is right there if you miss the hotel shuttle to town and restaurants line the road if you want to dine outside the hotel. We love Manuel Antonio and Si Como No!

Room Tip: We've only stayed in the honeymoon suites - both were lovely.

Dear Julie B,

We are so pleased you decided to come back for a second visit with all of us! While we are recognized as a family-friendly resort, we also offer an exclusive adult section that you seemed to appreciate too. Each pool offers a swim up bar with happy hours from 4 to 6 pm. We always strive to consistently offer great customer service that is one good reason to come back a second time. We really enjoy that you are being part of the Si Como No family and hope to see you a third time with one of our Greentique Family Adventures.

Best.

Our whole family, ten of us, stayed a week at Si Como No to celebrate an 80th birthday. It was perfect in every way. The rooms were cozy and clean, the beds comfortable, the jungle and ocean views from the balcony were incomparable. Free transportation from the hotel ran on a frequent and convenient schedule to the public beach nearby. Breakfast each day offered eggs any way you wanted them, fresh fruit and juices, local hot dishes, fresh breads and cafe con leche, served by friendly waiters hustling to keep us happy. The family pool with great slide was sparkling clean with swim-up bar. The grounds are like a tropical garden immaculately cared for. The eager-to-please staff was always available to help with transportation to restaurants or other places of interest. Some staff who went out of their way to help create the best vacation we ever had were Hallie, Johnny, Maykol, Allen, Maria and Yeslin (spelling?)

Room Tip: Our family had three different rooms--ours was at the reception and street level which worked out well for us. The younger family members had rooms down several levels on winding garden steps, but they didn't mind going up and down the levels doing it without a thought. The hotel is on the side of a mountain, so the rooms are at many levels--but all overlook the jungle and ocean. It is still required that guests go down most of the way to the family pool and breakfast restaurant, but you can take your time and rest along the way--enjoying the garden.

Dear bnbkelly,

We are happy you chose our resort to celebrate an 80th birthday. We are fortunate to offer panoramic jungle and ocean vistas and that found us to be a first-class tropical resort destination. Thank you for mentioning our free scheduled beach shuttles to the beach. Glad you enjoyed our family pool that along with our adult pool have a swim up bar and a popular happy hour from 4 to 6 pm. Our natural jungle corridors and gardens host a variety of flora and fauna year around. We hope to have you back with us again to enjoy one of our personalized Greentique Hotel packages!

We recently stayed for 5 nights at Si Como No and by and large the experience was lovely. The setting of the hotel is beautiful, and the accommodations spacious, clean and airy if perhaps a little tired in places. A cold drink on arrival would have been appreciated, as seems the norm elsewhere, but the concierge was efficient if not particularly welcoming. In terms of eating the seafood restaurant is very pleasant with good food, but we found the Rico Tico bar expensive and breakfast average. That said the staff in the Rico Tico are excellent, particularly - for us - Johnnie, Allen and Maria who were warm and friendly. We couldn't unfortunately say this about the adult pool barman who was distinctly indifferent.
There are a number of good restaurants in the area our favourite being the Cafe Milanegro, with the Aqua Saul a close setting. Overall very enjoyable, and we also appreciated the hotels gesture for our 20th anniversary.

Dear Ant66BW,

Thank you for appreciating the jungle setting of our resort. Our panoramic views each offer a private balcony, where you are able to experience the Magic of Nature set amidst lush jungle terraces and gardens overlooking the sparkling beaches of Manuel Antonio. Thank you for your positive reference to our seafood restaurant, Claro Que Si, which offers fresh Costa Rican seafood with tropical ingredients. We regret you found two staff members below our high standards of service to which we appreciate yet pleased you were very happy with our personalized gesture for your 20th anniversary.
