We stayed at the resort for a week and there were a few nights where we were the only guests at the resort. The resort is in the middle of nowhere on a very beautiful and desolate beach. I recommend renting a car since puerto jimenez is an hour and a half walk away.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The receptionist made sure that there was always staff at the restaurant despite us being the only guests at the resort for a few nights. Breakfast was included. I am surprised by the other reviews because we enjoyed the a la carte breakfast. The breakfast started off with fruit and then you got to order either pancakes, French toast, costa rican breakfast (eggs with beans and rice) or American breakfast. Lunch and dinner was also delicious at the Italian restaurant. We loved the freshly baked pizza.
The room also had Wi-Fi, a.c. And was very clean. We had a double bed room in front of the pool. The room was very basic and not that spacious, but we did not mind. We had just finished camping for a week in the rainforest so we were not concerned about the old fashioned furniture. We were just happy to have a.c..
The only negative aspect would be that it was difficult to swim at the beach and that there were only a few chairs at the beach. Bring water shoes and insect repellant. The sand gets extremely hot during the day and at dusk and dawn there are some sand flies at the beach. We visited the beach during midday in order to avoid the sand flies.
