I have stayed at the Irazu several times as I travel in and out of Costa Rica. Rooms and beds are good and clean. Staff is always very helpful. The Breakfast that is included is now a Continental in the hotel rather than sending guests over to Denny's. The hotel has done a fabulous job of creating a beautiful breakfast space that overlooks their courtyard and has a variety of food available. It was much much better than having to use Denny's. I had a three night stay here and enjoyed my time. The hotel is nice, rooms are clean and the staff were always helpful.
There is a nice pool and hot-tub in the grounds, which were all very nice. The rooms have balconies looking over he grounds which was pleasant.
For food and drink there are a few choices, the breakfast buffet was always good, a highlight for me. There is also the hotel bar which is a good spot to hang out in, a Casino, and a Denny's on site as well. i didn't visit the casino, but other two were a hit.
There is also a supermarket next door, which was very handy.
The only slight negative for me was that there were a few large groups of teenagers staying over the time i was there, and they could be a little noisy. They were always quiet by bed time so it wasn't too distracting.
Overall it was a good trip, and i'd return to this hotel when in the area.

We split a package deal with this Best Western and the BW Jaco Beach and it was fabulous. The airport is very close. The folks who helped me with the reservations were very friendly. The rooms are very clean and we had a group buffet planned in advance. Very Good!

I have been raveling to San Jose Costa Rica for 20 years on business and have stayed at many hotels. When I discovered Best Western Irazu Hotel and Casino, San Jose I found a Gem. Most professional, friendly and accomidating staff. Entire facility clean-clean-clean. BIG swimming pool, great HOT tub, comfortable size rooms & very comfortable mattress. I have stayed here several times and never dissappointed. This has become my home away from home when in the San Jose area of Costa Rica.

Beautiful property and maintained to the highest standard. Very clean outside and within the premises. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
There is a restaurant within the hotel and breakfast is included. There is a Denny's attached as well if you prefer to eat there. Next to the hotel is a supermarket and a pharmacy. Situated about 15 minutes from the airport. Shuttles are provided if arranged ahead of time. Taxis are always parked outside the hotel so getting around was very easy. American money as well as the local currency is accepted.
Really enjoyed this stay here and highly recommend this hotel. Great (very clean) pool and hot tub on site.

Iv'e stayed at this hotel many of times.The rooms are clean and the staff has always been friendly and accommodating.I stay here on my last night of visiting Costa Rica.I have always felt safe.There is a grocery store walking distance where I buy my coffee.Very convenient !!
