Aranjuez's breakfast is so good, that I view this as a breakfast place with a hotel stay included. A free hotel breakfast buffet usually is either good on quantity or quality. Sometimes you get neither. At Aranjuez, you get both. Tables upon tables of food, plus made to order omelets. There are pastries, cheeses, meats, and fresh fruit. Also, some of the best hummus I've ever had. There are also fresh juices and café con leche.

As for the room, it's a standard budget room. There was no chair, desk, etc. Just a bed, tv, good wifi, and a bathroom. It was clean and secure. Not only that, but there is free gated parking. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. There is usually one person fluent in English at the front desk at all times.

Aranjuez is also within walking distance of the national museum and some other city attractions, including the national park, which is a great place to get souvenirs. I felt safe walking around. Know that at night, there is not a lot around here, so I'd recommend taking a cab for going anywhere more than a few blocks.

Amazing breakfast, parking, and a clean room only ran us $50. Very good for city prices.

Thank you very much for choosing to stay with us recently at Hotel Aranjuez and indeed for writing such a glowing review, James!

We are delighted that you enjoyed the variety and quality of our breakfast as well as all the amenities provided to you during your stay with us. Our breakfast is famous for comments like the one you write and we work everyday to keep it that way and even to improve it!

In the Hotel we have 5 categories, each one with different caracteristics: the superior plus and the superior categories are bigger rooms, with bigger bathroom and most of them are in the garden.

It is a pleasure to learn that your stay with us was an enjoyable one in terms of service, accommodations and facilities. Once again, thank you for your kind comments and we hope to welcome you back on your next visit to our city!

Wonderful small hotel in center of San Jose walking distance to very good resturants, central market and museums. Close to hospital and pharmacies. Excellent breakfast included in room rate which is very reasonable hotel is small 35 rooms but quiet and restful. I plan on returning in 6 months to stay there again

Stayed one night and would gladly stay here again. Clean, cheap, amazing breakfast included. Highly recommended if in the San Jose area. Staff were very friendly and the location felt very safe. Walking distance to museums and parks. Unique rooms and hotel.

Thank you very much for your comment , Shawn!

Our hotel is a non- traditional choice: we are a fusion of 5 houses built in the 1930's and we retain the charm of the time. Most of our staff have been working with us for over ten years and always try to offer the best service, including the breakfast.

We appreciate you took the time to write this review and we hope to see you soon!

Happy New Year!

If you like fancy 5 star international hotels forget about coming here. Once you step in it feels like you are at home! This place is charming, has a lot of character, it s cosy. The tropical garden that envelopes the all place makes you forget you are just 20' walking from the center of San Jose. We had two rooms: one in the main building and one in the annex. The first one was right in the garden. The second one was in the annex and it was bigger with a larger bathroom. The place is quite. Just in the distance you hear the train go by. Breakfast was excellent: everything prepared on the premises. Great cakes, homemade bread, pizzas, fresh fruits and much more. A huge variety! The only thing missing is fresh squeezed juices. Last but not least very frendly staff!

Good morning, Manu!

Thank you very much for your comments and suggestions: having squeezed juices is a good idea to consider.

We work hard to create our ambiance, different from traditional hotels. We are a fusion of five houses built in the 30's and we kept the essence of the architecture: the wood in the floor and the walls, the gardens and the charm. However, our apartment building is a more modern option.

We are glad that you enjoyed our breakfast: is one of the most important part of the Hotel and we try to make it better everyday. Last but not least, most of our staff have worked with us for more than 10 years!

Thanks again for your opinion and happy new year!

Thoroughly recommend this beautiful hotel, run by very helpful staff. The breakfasts are amazing - probably the best breakfast I have had anywhere in the world! Our family of five loved staying here - our 14 year old son was delighted to start his birthday celebrations with such a feast. They kept belongings left here accidentally until we returned a couple of few weeks later. I would definitely return here.
