We had the Thai chicken and Pork pizzas for dinner. Both were tasty and fresh. Sitting outside right next to the water was amazing. Looks like it gets pretty busy as one of the places to drink in Rarotonga. The service was polite and friendly. We would eat here again.

After reading many reviews on trip adviser that Trader Jacks is one of the better places for a good feed we decided to try it out.

Unfortunately the first option that was on the menu , was in fact not on the menu.
Luckily our waitress was a “YESMAN” Jim Carey style because all responses to any alterations to our meal ended in a “Yis, yip, yes”
The facial expression tho didn’t match.

Wasn’t sure if because of this they had taken extra long to bring the food out. I had realised that after staying in raro for a week that this huge gap of time is what’s to be expected when ordering anywhere for anything.

Ended up ordering the hoki grilled fish and salad. It came with slaw but asked to swap out for salad which was fine.
Friends had ordered the chicken schnitzel which basically was a good ol parmie and was told was delicious.

Fish was fresh, expensive though for two small fillets, salad and “island fries” - which to me tastes like fried yukka similar taste to sweet potato = $29 NZD

If I was to compare it to something back home in Australia, think Mooloolaba surf club to Bribie bowls club. Your welcome.

Restaurant is located in town along marina side.

Fresh food, friendly service right on the water in Avarua - an enjoyable spot for lunch on a hot sunny day.

We have been to Trader Jacks on several occasions in the past, but this last time we changed things up a bit. They have a pizza shack as part of the restaurant so we decided to give it a try. We had heard they were doing a sashimi pizza but when asked the server didn’t know what we were talking about, so we chose the bbq pork and crackling with sweet chili sauce. Okay, I know it sounds weird, but it was one of the best dinners we had on Raro! As always, a stop in the ever seedy and always entertaining Trader Jacks bar for a nightcap set us right before catching the last bus around the island and back to our bungalow.
