We took a taxi ride of almost an hour to come to dinner early and see the sunset from this restaurant. However, despite booking some time in advance, the top floor was reserved for a wedding so we were relegated downstairs - and it kept going pear shaped from there.
After seeing a snippet of the sunset through power lines, we were blasted by loud music from above, then from next door. The latter was beyond their control, but despite numerous requests to turn the restaurant music down, we gave up and (like everyone else), moved. Some people had actually left!
The happy hour drinks were a good price, so we made the most of them!
To be fair, while our experience was not great, the food was pretty good. We had the fried tofu, then sashimi. Both were to a high standard. The sticky chicken and coconut rice dish was delicious, and the mixed tempura crisp.
We ordered as we went - and I would recommend this approach so you can take your time and to space out the food.
We couldn’t find a taxi (!), so took the hotel driver back to Seminyak.
For us the overall evening wasn’t memorable for the right reasons, but if you’re in Canggu this is probably worth trying. Just check to see if they have any events on first.
