I never expected to eat such delicious food in Yap. Everything is fresh and organic and delicious. Try the pumpkin pancakes for breakfast, beyond yummy!

The food is fresh, the menu is varied and the presentation is excellent. There's a good list of starters, mains and even deserts. The staff are really friendly and the atmosphere is very islandy...with wooden floors, coconut thatching and tropical flowers in the table and in the surrounding garden. For the final temptation, there is a fun cocktail list, with a little Yapese flavor in the 'mogethin' cocktail on offer. Make it a destination whilst on Yap.

There is a couple of other places on Yap that are alright but Oceania's food is by far the best. Their pan seared blackened tuna with a slightly burnt crust and sashimi texture inside, just melts in your mouth and is perfectly delicious. Definitely the best restaurant in Colonia and all of Yap.

The Oceania has a chef as opposed to a cook. The food is fresh and very good, with local twists. The dining is mostly open air which is enjoyable, although it is less appealing in some weather.

Owned by an American couple from NYC, this delightful small hotel with charming thatched-roof rooms patterned on native building methods, features a casual restaurant that is the best in Yap. A talented Filipino chef uses the day's catch and local ingredients in his spicy, inventive, ever-changing menu. A mix of locals, expats residents and visitors gather throughout the week at Oceania for happy hour and dinner. Heavy on fish but always a vegetarian option plus pasta, chicken, pork and maybe some beef. Cash only.
