North Country Bed and Breakfast
Reviewed 11 September 2015

My wife and I spent three nights here in late June, 2015. Col. Jeff and Janet were wonderful hosts offering great conversation along with traditional Swedish breakfasts!
We stayed in the Denali suite which provides more than enough room and comfort to relax and appreciate the outstanding views of Denali. The property is located off the main highway offering a quiet peacefulness. It is an easy drive to Denali National Park as well as to the tourist haven of Talkeetna. In summary, North Country B & B not only met our high expectations for a nice experience, they exceed them!

Room Tip: Enjoy the "Ready Room."

Many, many thanks to Janet and Jeff for the incredible hospitality and support during our several recent visits to film for cable television. The accommodations were great and the breakfasts were every bit as delightful as the conversations. The entire crew sends their regards and are looking forward to seeing you all again soon.

We stayed in the Denali Suite in early September on our way up to Denali National Park. The bed in the Denali Suite was the most comfortable we slept in during our entire trip. The Denali Suite was spacious and clean. But the best thing about this B&B was the views across the lake. The weather was sunny while we were there, and the views from this B&B property across the lake toward Mt McKinley are about as spectacular as you will find on a trip to Alaska -- love the picture of my wife reading on the lake shore in the evening with Denali in the background. It was one of my favorite photos from our two week trip. The only minor comment I have would be regarding breakfast. We were served pancakes and bacon -- which were great. But my wife would have really liked a healthy option (fresh fruit?) to go with the flapjacks. Bottom line: if you are looking for a clean and comfortable place to stay, with awesome views of Denali, not too far from Anchorage, the North Country B&B is a terrific choice.

Room Tip: Loved the Denali Suite -- but I suspect all of the rooms are very clean and comfortable. Room choic...

I think a lot of people stay here as an in-between for Anchorage and Denali, as was the case with us, but if we had to do over we might have stayed a little longer. It is such a beautiful place right on Scotty Lake with a view of the mountains, even Denali on a clear day. Jeff and Janet were great hosts and even helped us to spot a moose on the far shore of the lake and lent us their binoculars. The also have a canoe that they let us borrow on the lake where I saw my first bald eagle. Great breakfast of blueberry pancakes and reindeer sausage. Hoping to go back some day soon!

The view is breath taking! The hosts are very accommodating and friendly. Very yummy breakfasts! Sitting down by the lake was restful and peaceful. The hosts care full of information and will visit as long as you'd like to but will also give you privacy. Would definitely stay again!
