A Big Lake local favorite! I Love pulling up on the boat to grab a bite and a few drinks after a day playing on the water. Small menu and a bit pricey but overall it's a nice experience. On a nice day grabbing a...table out on the deck is the way to go!More

Drive your car on a frozen lake (or your boat in the summer) to an island in the middle and have a wonderful meal at this great restaurant. The staff is welcoming and cheerful and the food is quite delicious and fresh. We both had...salads, a garden salad with grilled shrimp and the balsamic salad with grilled chicken. They were both good sized salads and left us satisfied. The chef then came out and enthusiastically described the fresh pies she made that day. We each found room for a slice, one cherry and one apple, both were delicious and the crusts were flaky and tasty. This island restaurant is popular with the locals. The decor inside is all island theme and there is a small stage that must host a band for some lively evenings. It is a remote location, but if you are in the area and they are open, by all means, stop in and enjoy all that this little gem has to offer.More

So his is one of two restaurants on the lake and it has a bar, service is normally pretty good, and the food is normally pretty good. We went last night and had dinner with family and friends, and you know you're going to pay...more, it's on the lake after all. Anyway, I ordered the islander New York, which when you and the peppercorn sauce and extras comes to a whopping $40.90, but hey, you're in the lake, right? I ordered it Rare, making sure she knew RARE, like almost blue I tell them. So after what see,s like forever (an hour) food shows and I cut into it to find medium well. The waitress KNEW something was up because she asks me if it's cooked correctly. And I tell her no. She looks at me, looks a t the steak and says "yeah, he was wondering about that, he thought he overlooked it. He did" and that was that, she was gone...... No, can we fix that? I'll take it off your bill, just "Yeo, that sure is over cooked". I took a couple more bites and called it quits, it just wasn't good. Add to that, not sure if the salmon spread appetizer was the root cause but I woke up in the middle of the night with, what I can only assume, was some sort of food poisoning, I'll spare you the details. So while I like the islander, the abysmal lack of attention to customer service and gastrointestinal distress, I'll probably just order a beer IF I go back,More
