I visited Mekong Thai Cuisine and ordered three items. The fresh spring rolls were outstanding along with everything else I ordered. If you are looking for a great place to eat, Mekong was excellent.

I love #39 on the menu hopped up to 10 star. Chicken, cashews, veggies, served with rice. Straight off the menu its great but if you add heat it's amazing!

We have been eating there for years and really enjoy every visit. Every once in a while the food is especially better than others, but that may be our personal tastes that vary from day to day! It is always plentiful and tasty. We usually get the same thing and the waitress knows our name when we phone in an order for pick-up simply based on what we order! We'd recommend the pad Thai, any of the curries, broccoli beef, and chicken fried rice.

The food is made fresh so it takes a while to get your order served. If you have time, it is definitely worth the wait. We used to be able to eat there for lunch quickly by calling ahead with our order before leaving the office. The order would be ready around the time we arrived we arrived, allowing for us to sit down, get food quickly, eat in a reasonable amount of time, and make it back to the office before our lunch break was up! However, apparently some customers complained because THEIR food came out after OUR food even though they arrived first -- and they even left without paying! So the owners caved and changed their policy to punish us by not allowing call ahead orders anymore for dining in. So disappointing -- we've stopped going there for our lunch since "take out" food isn't as fresh one we get back to the office, and we don't have enough time to order, eat in, and get back to the office!

That said, this restaurant is still one of our favorites and is our go-to place whenever we have a hankering for Thai -- and whenever we have the time to wait!

A co-worker and I were both 'batching it' and had worked a long day. We were hungry and I proposed going somewhere local for dinner. We tossed a few names/menus around and he asked about Thai or Indian food - his wife is Japanese and an excellent cook. I offered that I really liked the Thai at Mekong; he said he'd try it. I'm a regular there because I could literally eat the Special Fried Rice a few times a week. It would be his first time there.

There's nothing fancy about the interior - a splash of decor here, a TV featuring a Thai channel (and another with current events programming) quietly play on the wall. The place varies from a couple-to-a-few tables occupied to OMG it's packed. We were probably table four at the time.

He looked over the menu and selected some fresh spring rolls and a seafood concoction; I ordered my usual fare - Special Fried Rice with Chicken, four stars hot. Food prep is individual so nothing comes out really fast - but that provides good time to talk. The spring rolls arrived and he was impressed - I've seen the ones his wife makes, and tasted them, and they're great. The ones on the table rivaled the best he had. Then came the meal.

My SFR was, as usual, outstanding! I shared a bite or two and he said he might have to order some the next time he comes out this way. I tried a bit of his calamari and liked it too. I had leftovers (it's a BIG plate of food so I anticipate lunch 'tomorrow') and took them home.

The next day I brought my leftovers to work and endured a few comments about how well I was going to eat - but the winds of change altered that. I had to make a 'parts run' around noon and left the job; I figured I'd wolf down the SFR when I got back. Then, during a phone conversation while I was on the road Blake mentioned that he'd forgotten his lunch. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that I was already on the road and could pick up lunch while out...and he could stay at the job and eat my leftovers. That's what we did.

When I got back he gushed about how good it was and reaffirmed he would be back. He loved it.

Just about everyone I've ever taken to Mekong Thai has at least tasted a morsel of my SFR - and almost all have been back if, for no other reason than to have some of it. Certainly many more items on the menu are great but the Special Fried Rice is my 'go to' for good eating.

Mekong Thai had a great lunch menu. It was a hard choice. We had heard about the restaurant I'm decided to try it. It was worth it. Truly authentic Thai.
