We packed in a picnic lunch and ate it under the willow tree in the picnic area. We were soon joined by first one female, and then an entire flock of ducks enjoying the area just down stream from the fish hatchery. The area is spotless and just peaceful. People kayak here and it is possible to rent kayaks at the Marina further on. This area is just for picnics and is right across the gravel road from a very clean outhouse style 'facility'.
We enjoyed this a lot and will probably do it again.

We’re full time living in our travel trailer. We picked Willow Beach as a stop for about a de days. It’s beautiful spot in the middle of no where on the Colorado River. They have full hook up water, sewer, and electric. There is no tv or cell services. There is WiFi but it’s rather weak so only good for email.

But you have so much to do. Your can explore the river by boat or kayak, hiking trails galore, relax enjoy the quite and you can have a nice campfire. Park is immaculate with gray restroom and showers. Even has onsite washer and dryers. Staff super friendly here at the store/Marina.

On a trip to Las Vega, my husband and I stopped at Willow Beach, AZ for a day trip. We rented a tandem kayak for $40 for two hours and decided to head North towards Emerald Cove. It was about an hour from La Vegas (via the Hoover Dam) and cost $20 to enter the park. But we were told that pass would be good for up to 7 days. We rented our kayak from the small shop and made our way down to the marina. Everyone was extremely helpful, and they gave us about half an hour longer to get back since we were beginners. The man who helped us into the kayak gave us directions to the cove and tips on hugging the bank depending on the direction of the wind.

The scenery was incredible. Blue waters. Blue sky. We saw a small coyote on a bank. Another couple of kayakers we ran into had traveled that portion of the river often said that was the first time they had seen a coyote on the river, so that was exciting. It took about an hour to get to Emerald Cove and about 40 minutes to travel back to the marina since we had the help f the current.

We ate a late lunch at the marina's grill. The cook was one of the hardest working guys I have met. It was fairly busy; a large family had just received their meals and were eating on the deck, as were two men inside the grill when we ordered. And it was just the one cook. He was super upbeat and friendly and made sure our order came out as quick as he could. The food was well portioned for the price.

Overall, this was an absolutely amazing experience, and I would definitely return!

My wife and I rented a pontoon from the Marina and explored the winding canyons and basin of the Colorado River. We packed a picnic lunch and enjoyed the watching the wildlife. Very relaxing and serene.
