Milkwood Manor on Sea
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 5 June 2017

The location is idyllic – on the beach, many rooms have views. The rooms were beautifully furnished and presented, spacious and comfortable. The public lounge areas are multiple and very attractive with light streaming in. Breakfast area by morning overlooks the beach, is very attractive and becomes a very good restaurant by evening. The staff were very friendly and helpful – there was even a friendly guy who washes your car every day. Has secure parking. Plet itself is a bit developed and Milkwood is good as it is out of the way of large numbers of other tourists. Not so good if you don’t have a car. (About 1k from the main shopping / restaurant area). Was exceptionally good value for the level of hotel and service provided. Would highly recommend.

Room Tip: The rooms facing the sea with balconies are particularly attractive if you are happy to pay more

Me and a friend of mine stayed at Milkwood Manor for 2 nights.
Room and the service was very good. All staff members were very kind and polite.

For breakfast you'll have a wide range of differenz food within a buffet and the possibility to chose beetween some warm dishes a la carte (also for free). Especially the salmon was excellent.

Just negative point:
the WiFi access often didn't work for a whole day. It seems like those problems occur more often.

Such gorgeous views of the water and sunset from the room and the rooftop!

We had to leave early the next morning before breakfast and Milkwood had a delicious packed meal waiting for us at the front desk. Everyone was incredibly nice!

Very good, nice, beautiful accommodation! ! Beautiful view over the sea with a greatful sunrise. Problem with the wifirst. . That was bit bad ... because we normally need it for new booings. It didn't work more than 24h. But all in all it was a very good stay

Dear G8066IJjenniferh
Thank you for your review; we're so glad to hear that you enjoyed our stay.
Apologies about the wi-fi though, in Africa it can be a bit unreliable at times and we're sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused.
We hope to see you again in the near future.

Before we could ask for anything you'd already done it. They even washed all the cars of the guests by the next morning. Everyone we dealt with were super helpful and friendly. Great location. And the views!

Location: The most enviable location on the Garden Route. At the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, jutting into the ocean - any closer and you would be in it! - as well as the estuary of a large lagoon- no neighbours but nature! Exquisite, unimpeded 180 views (360 from the roof deck) of the vast blue ocean, golden beaches, large lagoon and the imposing Tsitsikamma Mountain Range. Nature all'round, yet not isolated, but only a 2-minute drive from the town centre and its trendy shops.A pristine beach: accessible from the sheltered cove adjacent to the Manor - ideal for swimming in natural water – you may boat across to an unspoiled and usually deserted beach, far from built-up areas, traffic, crowds and noise. Blissful solitude and a complete immersion in nature, with only the sound of white-crested surf tumbling at one’s feet and the calls of a medley of seabirds – a veritable bird sanctuary. Becalming and rejuvenating - the perfect antidote for stress,. With luck you may even find the mysterious and sought-after pansy shell (sand dollar). The Manor: built in classic Georgian style, with an airy double-volume foyer and eleven double bedrooms, most with private patio or balcony. All rooms are decorated in crisp white and en-suite to a shower cubicle with/without bath, and a queen bed or twin beds, TV-hospitality package, free uncapped Wi-Fi, tea/coffee making facilities, safe, fan, heater and hairdryer. The sash windows allow the fresh ocean air straight in. ... more   less
