Two of us had supper at this venue. The menu is extensive and the co-owner served us. She understands English to a large extent. The drinks order was taken and promptly and correctly delivered and supplemented. The starters as well as main course were delightful, very filling and subsequently we did not have desert space!!! The creamed sweet corn and chicken soup was delightful as well as the array of spring rolls njammmeeee. We had different main courses which were great!!!

A large Chinese traditional restaurant that had been around for years. The service is slow but the food seems to be made from scratch. We had chicken and corn soup and chicken spring rolls which were very good. The pineapple with the sweet and sour chicken had an over ripe taste but was otherwise good. Not amazing but good with a very extensive menu. Drinks prices are reasonable but food is a bit on the expensive side unless you opt for a set menu or special.

We went for Sunday lunch and our appointment was for 12h00. We ordered menu F and menu A from the fixed menu. We added prawns as an extra with stirred noodles. The food was really good and they paced the flow of the food so that we had time to digest. Even though this as a rather old restaurant we always enjoy the food. I judge a Chinese restaurant by the popularity among Chinese people and there were 2 big family groups present.

We're fastly becoming regulars at this restaurant mainly for their really traditional dishes that break away from the South-African-Chinese food you find at most other places. Things like shredded pork with preserved cabbage (similar tasting to kimchi) and sizzling tofu or the mushroom and fungus soup are complete highlights. the menu is pretty extensive so they cater for all tastes. The ladies even warned us when we chose something "very traditional" , fearful it might be too weird for us. But we've grown to love the very traditional dishes so we will keep coming back and trying new things on the menu. The staff and owner(s) are generally very reserved but polite and friendly.

The decor is very humble and simple and a bit old-fashioned. However we find the atmosphere very pleasant especially if you sit on the covered balcony with lovely views over an undeveloped hill and the slopes below. They never seem to be busy over weekends which adds to a very quiet and relaxed dining experience. However this restaurant has been there for many years so they must have busy times, we just havent seen it yet!

I would recommend this for adventurous couples wanting to taste real traditional Chinese dishes in a quiet setting. The food is generally well priced and on par with other restaurants.
