The Hopi Cultural Center Restaurant is amazing. I had fry bread and chill for breakfast every day and it was delicious each time. Also had blue corn fry bread for dibner, equally delicious. The Inn is incredibly quiet with no sound from traffic , people, etc. Very relaxing, an excellent place for meditation.

There are no alternatives closer than Tuba City but for a one-night stopover or for two nights when spending a day with a Hopi guide, this will do you well. The Hopi staff are warm and helpful. The room was spacious and had good WiFi, but the wall was a bit thin and we could hear too much of our noisy neighbor. The food in the restaurant is simple regional and local cuisine, but good quality and reasonably priced. Certainly worth staying if you are in the area.

For those travelers who wish to do more than pass through the Hopi mesas, the Cultural Center offers the only on-reservation lodgings. Located on Second Mesa just a few miles from the village of Shongopovi, it's a particularly convenient place to pass the night before one of the regular seasonal dances. The hotel has had serious ups and downs, and still bears signs on neglect in its exterior spaces, but the rooms have undergone refurbishment, and offer both clean and comfortable quarters. The restaurant has stepped up its game as well. Hopi dishes remain the specialties, and are worth sampling; those not in a meat mood will find chicken and fish alternatives. The small galleries attached to the hotel once offered exceptional shopping, but now display little merchandise. The best bets for collectors are the rotating vendors in the parking lot, and just down the road at Tsakarshovi, which specializes in traditional kachina carving.

The food is bleh -- no flavor. I do recommend trying the fry bread though. Your best bet are the quesadillas if you're looking for mexican food. The lunch special was Philly cheese steak (???). There isn't much to the "cultural center" either. But there are some local artisans outside and a few shops that are ok. I got a great Warrior Maiden tshirt there.

The Hopi Cultural Center offers a grat vantage point for discovering and exploring the Hopi nation. The Motel offers excellent rooms with all amenities you would expect; the Restaurant offers a good menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner; and adjacent art and handcraft shops offer beautiful handmade products from the area. You will get a good insight into the history, culture and current way of lHopi life from 2 days at the Hopi Cultural Center. If only the museum could stick to its advertised opening hours! Unfortuanately, we did not get a chance to visit the museum as it did not open during our 2 day stay. Appearantly this is not an uncommon issue

Room Tip: 2nd floor rooms give a little more privacy
