One of the best "finds" during our 5 nights in CapeTown at the fabulous Taj Hotel in the CBD! Hip, intimate, very cool decor,... I want that fabulous Twig Chandelier!!... Awesome service, beautiful waitpersons.....DELICIOUS offerings, Chicken, Sticky Ribs!!! Filet!!! perfect!!... we weren't even really hungry, had an extraordinary lunch at the Food Barn... but decided to go to dinner anyway.... We ate everything, was so tantalizingly delicious!..and so cool Kloof St...off the tourist path!... loved dining with neighbors and their dogs!!! Great spot, romantic, foodies, EVERYTHING!!

Best bennidict I have ever had with a perfect cuppacino. Small restaurant, but you can see everything here is made passion.

Our hotel suggested this restaurant on a Sunday night, many other places were closed. Aso the TA reviews are mostly very positive.

We were disappointed with every aspect of this restaurant, the only exception being our waiter who tried his best although he did have a limited knowledge regarding the wines.

Our entrees were the Patagonian Calamari and the Mussels. The Calamari was like adult fish fingers with a tasteless mayonnaise, the mussels had way too much fried onion and were just ok.

My main course was a chicken and risotto dish with a strange accompaniment of carrots on top. The chicken was totally dried out and I have never eaten a more tasteless or dry risotto.
My husband had fish of the day on a potato mixture, all totally underwhelming. We had asked for bread basket and were informed that they had sold out of bread that morning!!!!!

The Manageress offered a free Dessert which we declined, after four terrible dishes why would we want Dessert. Instead we paid our bill and left, never ever to return.

Cape Town has outstanding restaurants and several of those are in Kloof Street but this, in my opinion is not one of them.

Recommended by our hosts at Abbey Manor and it did not disappoint. The menu was extensive and the wine list was reasonable and not overly expensive.
The restaurant's décor provided a relaxing and positive atmosphere.
Between us we had seafood and beef dishes, alternating between entrée and main.
The staff were exceptional - friendly, attentive and engaging.
This is one of those restaurants that sits on Loofe Street, famous for its restaurants and cafes.
Highly recommended by us.

Doesn't look outstanding when you first see it, as we did as we passed by on a lunchtime, but for some strange reason we both thought that it still had something. So we booked for dinner.
The food was excellent, but it was the staff who really made it for us. We were welcomed firstly by a lady who was front of house. beautiful and genuine smile. Then as we sat down a guy who guessed was the owner, but worked in the kitchen stopped to chat and offered advice from the menu. Again friendly but not intrusive. Waiting staff were just the same and it was really pleasant and laid back, yet very professional. Not easy to do, but when it works its great.
This gave the restaurant a really good atmosphere and it was the best evening we spent in Cape Town.
