We usually stay in a hotel but a two bed suite costs the earth and we wanted our children with us. We opted for the waterfront apartments and we were really pleased we did. The two bed apartment we had over looked the marina, so the views were fab. The apartment itself was so spacious and had everything you could wish for. We had a double bed and the girls two single beds. Both rooms had ensuites. The balcony was large and well furnished. I am not sure we had the most trendy or modern of all the apartments, looking at some of the pictures but we were happy. Security was top notch and we found them very helpful with booking taxis and making restaurant bookings. The location could not be better, it is a 5 min walk into the V&A and all that this has to offer. Bars, restaurants , shopping, attractions all on your doorstep. The only negatives I can report is the fact that you have to pay for Internet use, that the pools are too small for a complex of this size, even the one by the gym, that you have to pay a small one off fee for and that the cleaning wasn't always top notch. I have to advise I am a clean freak so I could tell the bathroom mirrors were not polished daily and nor did the rugs and under the beds see to get hovered and mopped properly. I did ring and ask them to move and clean under the furniture and this did happen. I think it would also be useful to have a small shop on site, although there are stacks of places in the V&A and a petrol station 5 min walk away so I guess that is me just being really lazy a d not wanting to go further than down the stairs. I would definitely recommend buying breakfast vouchers for the One and Only hotel, we loved eating there.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms facing the marina and level 2 or above.

Reception staff not as enthusiastic as other staff we had experienced whilst in SA. But once inside the apartment we were not disappointed.
The security staff were friendly and helpful and we felt very safe indeed. Maintenance was to a high standard as our shower was not draining properly on arrival - sorted within 2 hours.
Ground floor apartment was well equipped and luxurious overlooking the canal. bit strange watching the canal tours going past all the time but soon got used to it.
Five minute walk to the V & A waterfront - very very busy during the holiday period. Next time we visit might just dine in the apartment.
A great base to explore Cape Town and the surrounding area

We stayed here for two nights between Christmas and New Year- the only disappointed being that they were booked out for the 31st. Once we saw our apartment, we totally understood why! The apartment is very large (we stayed in a one bedroom facing Table Mountain) and very well equipped. The view of Table Mountain is not all encompassing but we were still looking out over the canals so it was fine. Security was very good and you're only 3 min walk from the Hop on Hop off bus office and Aquarium, and 5 mins from the Waterfront complex. We will stay here again- luxury and service aplenty!

Room Tip: Ask for a waterfront room if you want a spectacular as opposed to a pleasant view

Great security, well equipped kitchen with all mod cons, washing machine and drier god send. Good location, modern spacious apartment, great views, smart, clean with good service. Highly recommended - worth the money for a two minute stroll to the waterfront.

We stayed in the Waterfront Village to see in the New Year 2013. We had a wedding up in Stellenbosch in between two short stays and had two different apartments. The first was a two bedroom apartment - where we had booked a three bedroom, but the managers asked us to do them a favour and swap - in return for breakfast at the One and Only hotel - we were fine with this as it was just one night. In return to our surprise and delight they upgraded our second 2 night stay to a Penthouse flat overlooking the marina which was stunning - perfect view over the marina just below and over the V&A where we watched the NY fireworks from the massive balcony. This had three lovely double bedrooms all with walk in showers, a huge dining table, lovely lounge area and balcony on 3 sides with superb views.
The location is superb - just a few minutes onto the V&A but away from the noise and bustle.
The apartments are superbly appointed and well equipped with everything we needed. Right under our balcony the had half a dozen seals that would come and sunbathe on the quay.

We had a hire car and it was really quick and easy to find coming in from Cape Town airport - journey takes about 15 to 20 mins with clear traffic. Parking is right under the apartments so very easy to get luggage to and from the car.
The mall on the V&A has a Pick n Pay supermarket together with just about every other type of shop so we got everything we needed in there.
I got a 3G data card from Vodacom - 1 Gb which lasted about a week with our family using my iPhone as our Wifi, and this cost about £30 - the most flexible way of getting Internet if you visit from abroad. The mobile phone shops all insisted on seeing my passport before selling me a pay as you go SIM for my iPhone which is a bit odd. Vodacom were also terrible for online top ups so you may want to try a different provider.
All in all highly recommended.

Room Tip: If you can stretch to the Penthouses then they are well worth it. Try to get a room overlooking the Marina and chances are you will be able to watch the seals from your balcony.
