This is definitely one of the best places in Cape Town. Great location with a great view to the Tabel Mountain and still only a few minutes away from the city centre. They offer an excellent breakfast. Rooms are maybe not that big, but still spacious enough and offer all you need. Staff is very friendly and helps you in all aspects. There is also a very small pool and some nice "lounge" areas in front of the hotel. Can definitely recommend.

A lovely secluded hotel in a beautiful part of Cape Town right by table mountain. The hotel was delightfully charming and the breakfast was delicious. It was a lovely touch to arrange wine on arrival and book some restaurants for us. Gillian on the front desk was very helpful and welcoming.

KP is definitely a gem. Staff is very accommodating to your needs.

The views of the beautiful natural surroundings are amazing.

Decoration is superb and very chic.

Breakfast: be prepared to be pampered. Everything is prepared “a la minute” and delicious.

So many great things to say about KP and their staff. Upon first arrival, a welcome drink is offered while you review paperwork and learn about the hotel. With only eight rooms, you definitely felt special attention. We had lovely conversations with hotel staff each day and they remembered us!
Room was well appointed and we loved the evening turn down service with hot water bottles in the bed (our stay was during the winter season).
Breakfast each morning was an event to look forward to. Fantastic food each day! Very consistent.
The shining star for us was the hotel staff took the initiative to make restaurant reservations for us. We could use them or not which was nice to have the option. We took a gamble and found the choices to be FANTASTIC. In fact, one recommend - The Black Sheep - was sooo good that we went two nights in a row.
From check in to check out, you will enjoy your stay at KP. Will definitely stay here again.

Having left London on a cold February day, spent 3 nights in Abu Dhabi then landed in Cape Town early evening we were tired, to put it mildly. From the outside it isn’t immediately obvious what a gem this place is. A warm welcome and quick tour of the public rooms, then up to a truly delightful bedroom.

Over the next 3 days we experienced wonderful, but understated, hospitality. No restaurant on site but just a few minutes walk down to Kloof Street which seems to have restaurants in just about every other building. And because we were arriving at a very busy time of year the staff at Kensington Place had made provisional bookings for us for each night on their own initiative. One in particular was outstanding, and we would have stood no hope of getting in without a reservation.

Access to the tourist hotspots was easy but the hotel is situated in a very quiet, upmarket area so there was no noise to contend with. I’m sure we’ll return.
