My partner & I stayed at TwentyTwo for 4 nights at the beginning of our recent 2 week holiday & again for 1 night before flying home. It was our first visit to South Africa and we were made to feel most welcome when we arrived and like old friends when we returned at the end of our trip. The guest house is set in beautiful surroundings with stunning city & mountain views. As we stayed twice we were lucky enough to enjoy both views and both rooms were extremely well appointed. The facilities and finish throughout the house are of the highest quality and the warmth and professionalism of both Dominic and Allan really added something special to our stay with loads of little touches that make all the difference (early check-in when possible, laundry service, honesty bar, the warmth of a roaring fire when there was a chill in the air). Their concierge service for booking restaurants and transport really lightens the load for any weary traveller and every recommendation for places to visit was spot on. And there is no better way to start the day with one of their sumptuous breakfasts... the hardest decision for anyone will be what to order. I wouldn't stay anywhere else when we return to Cape Town and it's only a question of when.

Room Tip: Room 3 has a balcony with a beautiful view of the city & Table Bay. Room 1 has a private terrac...

The only place to stay in Cape Town - be it for 2 nights or 2 weeks. Dom and Allan are the perfect hosts and win the best breakfast award - and we have had some pretty good breakfasts in SA!! We had a great time and cannot wait to go back.

Very rare breed of excellent guest house which combines informal friendliness with excellent service and fantastic interior decor. Dominic and Allan were incredibly helpful, with great recommendations for restaurants, drives and sightseeing. We had forgotten to book a hire car and they swiftly arranged one to be delivered to the front door, with a smile. One of the few places we've stayed where we genuinely felt like friends rather than guests.

If I could give more stars I would. We stayed at twentytwo for 9 nights, and I couldn't have wished for a better base from which to explore Cape Town and the surrounding area. We had a lovely room, with wonderful views, and the whole of the guest house was stylish, but comfortable. Dominic and Allan were amazing hosts, very personable, and made us feel at home in their guest house. They helped us with practical arrangements for travel, suggestions for trips and restaurants, and directions to get to places. Their recommendations were always spot on for us. Breakfast was a delight - eggs always cooked to perfection! I can't wait to go back!!

As the owner of my own travel community business and an avid fan of stylish, boutique hotels, I had high expectations for TwentyTwo ... not just as a stylish guest house ... but on all levels of service, cleanliness, location (safety), management ... and of course as a place to feel in the upmost holiday bliss. TwentyTwo went over and above my expectations and my girlfriend and I had a fantastic time.

Dominic and Allan (the owners) made every effort to ensure our stay was as relaxing, fun and as stress-free as possible ... they know great bars, restaurants, places to go, taxi companies (always useful) and sites to see. They vanish into the background almost by magic (but someone is there if needed) and it is so far removed from the hotel experience it's amazing (i find hotel staff annoying when they pester you for confirmation you are ok a little too much and you can't just escape and relax).

The location is great - just below table mountain, in an extremely safe and picturesque part of town. I must say that although nothing is far away in Cape Town ... even the are only Winelands are 30-40 mins drive ... this place has a few special benefits ...

1. You walk 1 minute (literally) down the road and you arrive at a wonderful deli - full of gorgeous food, perfect for grabbing a convenient snack or bringing back some olives, french bread, brie and sun dried tomatoes for a light early dinner on your private balcony, when you just want to chill out together and take it easy.

2. There's a car hire place 2 minutes walk up the road, specialising in soft-top Mazda's MX5's ... i strongly recommend hiring one for a trip to the Winelands ... driving around in a sporty little soft-top, taking in the scenery is a must in my eyes (TwentyTwo will give you details).

3. You are right below table mountain ... it's a 5 minute drive away.

You can see pictures of the place and rooms on TA, so all i will say here is it is so stylish, contemporary (yet comfortable) and cool you will love it i'm sure. I personally love art and design, and it was an extra bonus to look at the wonderful art they have up. We happily chilled here, on the sun beds, reading a good book for half the day and stayed in one night sipping wine on the balcony (we were in room 4 which was lovely for this).

Given this is less expensive than some of the places here (at this standard), i can't fault it (I tried to think of something but couldn't)

We will be back no doubt!

Room Tip: Room 4 (and i think 3) have balconies overlooking Cape Town and the Harbour.
