My Tanzanian friend Joel and I stayed for a week in early December. It was exquisite in every way - a former Edwardian mansion with a high-quality contemporary renovation yet entirely empathetic with the original house. These guys have thought of everything - in the renovation, in the high quality and restrained taste of all the new fittings; the intimate but relaxed breakfast area the 'designer' continental breakfasts on a daily basis - we loved the fresh fruit kebabs!
We found all the staff to be friendly, informative, efficient and thorough (including the prompt - and immaculate - room tidying/cleaning every day.
Its a short stroll to the waterfront; shopping in the extensive restored harbour warehouses, Green Point Urban Park and Stadium, and with a range of local restaurants and bars just 5 minutes from the front door. The gay bars are about 15-20 minutes walk - but it's an easy one.
The Wifi is good (within the constraints of SA's Telkom's unpredictable capacity variations).More
