There are several routes but the most popular is the waterfalls hike. There are at least two of them. The first will take 30-45 minutes and the other one about 1h. There is a longer route which people sleeps overnight.
The scenery is breathtaking and as it is very popular is a safe route. It's adecuate for any age and it is well marked. Don't forget to take water with you as the sunny days can get very hot! You can get refreshed on the water so a bikini will be helpfull on those hot days!
You have to pay a ilttle conservation fee (around ZAR40pp) or enter for free showing the Wildcard. The way from the entry till the beggining of the hike is about 5km but takes about 15 minutes with the car due to the bad condition of the road. There is no parking but you can park the car on the road to the start of the hike. The later you arrive, the further you'll have to park.

This Nature Reserve is very impressive with majestic vistas around every corner. The entrance to the park is ZAR 40 which was reasonable. You drive into the Reserve but be mindful that the road is very rocky and you need to have a reasonable car to undertake the drive. There are a number of walks to do - the harder they are the less other walkers that you’ll bump into. Many of the vistas are stunning and the walks give you a great perspective of the area. We also walked to the first waterfall but as the area is in a critical drought there wasn’t too much cascading water to see. Still an impressive walk though. Drive with care but quite doable. Flora is unique. A good afternoon out to explore the area.

It is a lovely hike to the two waterfalls--there are many more routes and this one I chose as I had only a couple of hours to spend. It's an one-hour hike to the second waterfall, half an one to the first one. Please bring sufficient water, 1-1.5 liters per person in Summer, and your favorite energy snack. Use hiking shoes. And please please, look around, up, back, and down while hiking! Simply lovely.
