I hiked the Twee Waterfalle hike with my wife and 20 year old son. We all thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience.

The Reserve is only a few minutes drive outside of Stellenbosch and very easily accessible. Entry is free for Wild Card holders and my son paid R20.

The hike takes you up the Jonkershoek valley and is not at all strenuous. It took us about two and a half hours to complete and the views were simply stunning.

I would highly recommend the hike to anyone in the Cape winelands looking for some outdoor activity and exercise

There are several routes but the most popular is the waterfalls hike. There are at least two of them. The first will take 30-45 minutes and the other one about 1h. There is a longer route which people sleeps overnight.
The scenery is breathtaking and as it is very popular is a safe route. It's adecuate for any age and it is well marked. Don't forget to take water with you as the sunny days can get very hot! You can get refreshed on the water so a bikini will be helpfull on those hot days!
You have to pay a ilttle conservation fee (around ZAR40pp) or enter for free showing the Wildcard. The way from the entry till the beggining of the hike is about 5km but takes about 15 minutes with the car due to the bad condition of the road. There is no parking but you can park the car on the road to the start of the hike. The later you arrive, the further you'll have to park.
