There are pros and cons to Zehra Hotel. I've stayed in various different hotels in the area over the past 2 years.
Pros, halaal environment, masjid easily accessible, small things make a big difference like where qibla pointed to, the prayer mat, hat and tasbeh provided in each room. Separate pool for women, hamaam times for ladies only etc. Staff were friendly and tried to accommodate guests requests wherever possible.
Cons, buffet wasn't varied unlike other places I have been to. Plastic cups with drinks being served, no snack bar. Hamaam was closed, repairs were being done, water slide was out of commission in both pools, indoor heated pool was very small, kids park was basic, room smelt a bit damp due to water not contained within shower and leaking onto the bathroom floor. Main issue was the rooms didn't lock. You could use room key to open the door but couldn't lock when indoor, though alarm did go off when door was opened. This was being looked into when we were leaving though. Wifi wasn't very good but this seems to be a common theme for most resorts in this area.
I really wanted to write a positive review because the concept is great and a real niche for those that want a more modest experience however there is lots of room for improvement and I wish them well in this.More
