We stayed in the penthouse suite 304 for a week, just left a few days ago. The hotel looks great, it’s by the beach - just note that they don’t have a personal beach and you will have to pay for chairs/umbrella. We didn’t like the beach directly in front of the hotel and preferred to go to Tiger beach club which was maybe a 5 min walk.
Room 304 definitely felt secluded, although you could still hear the music every night coming from the Buzz Bar in the hotel. I can’t even imagine how it must be for the people staying in the sea view rooms, they are right next to the bar and the music was very loud every night.
We had a nice view of the old chapel and the pool, which was almost always empty.
Breakfast was good, we ate dinner at the Buzz bar one night but didn’t like it compared to other places, so we didn’t return.
One thing I didn’t like and was absolutely furious about the day we checked in, was the fact that we had breakfast included. I booked on Booking.com and had the printed confirmation with me that clearly stated that breakfast was included but the lady checking us in argued with me till the end that it was not. She even showed me her computer screen - in Turkish so I had no clue what it was - and asked me to call Booking. Like really lady?! I only have service when I connect to your wifi, how on earth am I going to call Booking?! I thought it was really bad manners, especially that we spent so much money for this hotel. (There is a hotel directly behind this one for 1/3 of the price. I was jus assuming that there was a private beach.) We have been in Turkey for 3 weeks now, and are staying for 3 more, and every single hotel has breakfast included. And usually it’s a huge Turkish breakfast with hot and cold mezes so the fact that a Turkish person checking us in, and being aware of prices and the current situation (almost no tourists due to covid) would start arguing with me over something that I had proof of was very poor representation of the hotel. I was very disappointed. In the end she told me that she will add breakfast but it will be our little secret which I just let go because my husband and my daughter saw that I was going to get nasty any second. In reality, even if I was charged for breakfast I would have no problem disputing the charge with my credit card as my confirmation from the hotel did say Breakfast Included. Also, I double checked on Booking.com, Orbitz, Travelocity, Expedia, etc. - all of them state that Ecclesia has breakfast included so my advise to you would be to check before paying for those extra charges. Our breakfast for 7 days, according to the breakfast menu was probably around $80.
Oh and last thing. I always like to email hotels directly to see if they offer a cheaper price. This hotel surprisingly is a lot more expensive if you book through them and much cheaper if you book through a travel booking site.
There are multiple activities in the area and there is a rep in front of the hotel advertising as well but I was just so mad about the experience with the check in woman that I wanted to have nothing to do with them. We booked multiple excursions with True Blue and had a great time. They are right by the hotel. Paragliding is a must and you won’t regret booking utvs with with Come and Drive. Simply the best!
Overall I would come back to this hotel, I really liked it. Not sure how I would handle the breakfast situation next time though lol.
