We stayed here in November 2015 based on a recommendation from a cruise travel company. The location in Recoleta was perfect, allowing us to walk to the Cemetery, artist's fair, Teato Colon, Museo Nacional and nearby good restaurants. The desk staff was very friendly and made recommendations and arrangements for reservations at excellent restaurants. We are an older couple and had no trouble walking to these sites and felt safe in the neighborhood. There is a Mall around the corner for a cash machine and quick, carry-out sandwiches or ice cream.

Room Tip: This is a quiet street, but rooms over-looking the inside garden are best.

The Serena Hotel was a delight and a real find. On a small, quiet street in the Ricoleta area, this boutique hotel was both modern and cozy. There are only five or six rooms per floor and the rooms are large and clean with comfortable beds and large showers. Breakfast was included in the room rate and was nicely done with a good assortment, including scrambled or fried eggs. There's a nice sunny outdoor patio at the back of the lobby, perfect for a Mojito (good bartender) before setting out for dinner. The hotel had a very small indoor pool and a small fitness center which was adequate for a basic cardio workout. The staff was very accommodating, knowledgeable and friendly. They seemed to take security seriously -- you had to use your room key to access the front door of the hotel. The room rate was very affordable for the amenities and area. It was located near major streets and lots of small shops, and was very near the famous Ricoleta Cemetery.

Temperature control in the rooms was a bit odd. The desk staff cheerfully explained that they controlled the temperature from the lobby, and that the thermostat in the room really didn't work. Then they asked what temperature you wanted your room to be.

Serena is a small, brlliiantly designed hotel that offers elegant design with great comfort and convenience. Its location in the Recoleta district is ideal. The hotel has a slightly Japanese feel - in the very best sense of that term.

Excellent location for Recoleta (cemetery maybe 10 minutes away?), Palermo and environs. Walkable streets that seemed friendly even after dark. Hotel staff very helpful with cabs, cars, etc. The hotel has a dark, cool, minimalist lobby and bar/breakfast room. Rooms are likewise but with comfortable beds and ample space. The bath has a walk-in shower of some strange design but with care you can keep the water off the floor. Stayed four nights, and on one, there was not enough hot water. The breakfast is a well-stocked cold buffet. In room mini-fridge. There is also a small store for water, beer, snacks etc directly across the street. Quiet street.

Stayed one night prior to departure on a cruise. Loved that the hotel is adults only - nice and quiet. Very comfortable and well-located. Breakfast was ample even without hot items. Lovely pool area. Some of the room furnishings are a bit tired and worn but all around a nice stay.
