If you like Sushi & Japanese Food, Sashimiya is your place. The restaurant is not very "visible" so make sure you have the exact address. Reservations are recommended as they have a limited number of tables.
Try the sushi... Salmon - Masato 40 pieces table is recommended as it has several different options.
If you go with your car, they have discount with the garage located one block and a half away, around the corner.
The neighborhood is not like "Puerto Madero" but the restaurant definitely worths the visit. Prices are average for sushi bars, around ARS 600 (USD 40) per person including tip....

We came to Sashimiya because we felt like sushi and TripAdvisor reviews were glowing.
And in truth, despite I can't claim I'm a sushi expert, I found sushi here to be delicious. The real treat are the octopus nigiri and the cream cheese-salmon nigiri.
A bit of a bummer that sashimi was only salmon (and not the tastiest).
Do not bother with the desserts, which are, frankly, quite awful, just get more sushi!
The atmosphere is not what I would call fancy - patrons were decidedly blue collar-looking (I understand that that night was very hot, but a wife-beater does not the proper attire make). Same thing about the location: the district, despite central, looks torn up and ill-frequented (the restaurant doors has bars and the windows are completely opaque, mind you): your best bet is going there and back by taxi.
The real letdown was service though: service is never the fastest in Argentina, but here it was simply excruciating. More than an hour before we got our sushi and 20 minutes for the dessert (mind you, they just had to take it out of the fridge!) and the restaurant was only half full!
If you're willing to overlook on the poor service, atmosphere and location, this restaurant won't disappoint your sushi palate.

Buenos Aires is not the best place for sushi in the world for long, you can find many different kind of combinations but not many kind of fish. Salmon is the best choice anytime, you can find white fish but is nothing interesting (or just kanikama or some veggies).
Anyway, Sashimiya is one of the best for me, they have fresh salmon and sometimes trucha from Patagonia. Their sushi pieces are big, with great quantity of ingredients and rice enough. Regularly you find bad sushi in BA, where rice is almost all... boring.
Ask for sushi, their dishes are not pretty great. Just the sushi is great.
