Stayed for a long weekend with my family in the one separate cabana.

Spacious, well equipped and clean, but all a bit worn-out, especially given the price charged. Some paint here and there, a refurbishment of the bathroom, repairing the cracks between the terrace tiles, cleaning the parilla and some new kitchen inventory would do wonders.

Same for the indoor swimming pool, which was wonderfully warm but has some tiles and paint missing here and there, dirty windows and a completely loose holding rail on the steps into the pool.

The personnel is very friendly. They helped i.a. with making a fire in the fire place as one of the gasheaters wouldnt work.

The breakfast could have had eggs, cut fruit and more variety of bread, ham and cheese (its Tandil after all), and less cakes and cookies in my opinion. Fresh juice and marmalades were nice.

I stayed at this hotel with my two daughters and husband over a three day weekend in October. The hotel was perfect for a getaway from Buenos Aires (we are American expats), although I went with my family it is also the perfect hotel for a romantic getaway. I was impressed at how the staff went out of their way to accommodate us, particularly at dinnertime. My daughters eat and go to bed early and even though the kitchen did not open until 8pm, they very graciously had a simple dinner prepared for them earlier. Once they were in bed we were able to order and eat right outside our room in a very comfortable common area in peace! As anyone with children knows, being able to enjoy your dinner in peace is priceless!

It is difficult to tell from the pictures but there are actually two pools. One pool is inside, covered, and is perfectly warm in winter, we spent a great deal of time there. The other is right next to it, separated by a wall and is outside, I would imagine it is fabulous in the summer.

There are quite a few common areas and comfortable daybeds around the property. I could see how it would be fun to go with a group of friends or family and use the common areas for playing games, visiting, or just relaxing. It was a little cold for us to enjoy the day beds but in the summer I could see us spending a lot of time on them.

The only thing that I would suggest to make it absolutely perfect would be a playscape for the kiddos in the back. I would love to sit out there in the summer with a book while the kids played. It seems like they have a lot of kids so perhaps they'll consider it. To me, it seems like this could be the type of hotel where you go and don't leave until you check out.

Special shout out to Agustin who immediately called us by name and made us feel so welcome. Gonzalo and another guy who chatted with us at dinner (his name escaped me!) also made our stay fantastic and provided outstanding service.

One last note--we forgot our daughters blanket and when I called they graciously offered to send it to me--thank you Posada La Protegida!
