Hostel Park Iguazu
Reviewed 16 August 2013

In general we enjoyed staying in this hostel and had no major issues, just sometimes little irritations. But the overall atmosphere was for sure nice. It's rather a clean hostel, we had our room cleaned every day and even beds made. But still the blankets smelled a little, maybe from humidity. The 4-bed rooms are very small but have private bathroom. In the beginning we were the only ones to use the room, so it was perfect. But when another person arrived, we had to share one key of the room, and this was quite unconvenient. The room has huge lockers too, which can help in case you decide to not lock the room while wandering around the hostel's common areas. We loved ping-pong table, it was too cold for the pool. Maybe because it was rather cold at this time, the hostel was not crowded, but still in the evenings it would get almost too difficult to share kitchen with other travellers. I guess when it's full, it's more complicated, and then you'd have 4 persons in the tiny room too. There's a bar area that plays music at night, but not too loud and there were actually no people there, so it was no issue even if I'm usually sensitive to sounds. The staff were really friendly. All in all - at least in low season I can recommend this hostel, it's good value for money.

We had two rooms here. Both were very, very, humid (including matrasses and bed sheets) and therefore they smelled 'funny'. Rooms were not too clean and the bathrooms could use a make-over for sure. Breakfast is a little bread but comes with free fruit. The whole thing feels run down which is a pitty.

Pros: staff were very friendly, close to the restaurants and busstation, there is a lot of communal space (inside and outside), 24h open shop.

We paid 140 per person for a matrimonial room and 100 per person for a twin room, pre booked, high season (Argentine winter holiday).
Towels are free but you pay a deposit of 50p.

This is not the place to be if you are looking for some quiet. Externally the hostel has two parts, one with the bar and some music and the other with a swimming pool and more relaxing. The problem is that there were so many rooms and people that it was too noisy and the music stayed till late. Plus, the rooms were very small and old, bed sheets were not so clean.
On the other side, staff was very kind and location was good, just 3 blocks from the bus station.

This hostel is really not worth staying at. Rooms are small and looks more like a dodgy Bangkok-hostel, shower not working probably, and the pool's dirty. No real hostel vibe. Pros: location good for bus station, kiosk with cold drinks open 24 hours, towels free (with deposit 50 AR$)

The aircon didn't work because of electric problems!

Marcopolo Inn or Hostel Inn looks a lot better - go there in stead!

A few pros: The location is good (although the city isn't that big anyways), nice breakfast, cheap rooms and a pool.
However, quite a few cons as well: The 4 bed dorms are incedibly small, you can barely move inside the room. There is only one key for the 4 people. Even though you're supposed to leave it at the reception, people keep forgetting it and it can take 20min to find the right guy with the key. The had a few cockroaches but I guess this is normal for the climate. The place could be a lot better if they only did some renovations.
