Hostel Park Iguazu

Hostel was a very nice and cheap place to stay. The room was small although okay for two people and had hot water in the shower which was nice. The rooms only light was under the top bunk (for the bottom bunk) which gave the room a dingy feel at night. The wifi worked well.

We did not go in the pool but others did and it looked clean. The place had a very nice feel about it with a nice outdoor area and music playing. Also a nice indoor area with TV.

The computers did not work all that well (one not at all) and the breakfast (if it can be called that) was shocking. Little slices of a chopped up baguette (looked as though you could at least get unlimited amounts). In my opinion you should not be able to promote yourselves as having breakfast when that is what is served up.

However the friendly staff and the unbelievable value for money made this a great place to stay.

Room Tip: Get a room close to the courtyard as the wifi will reach the room.

Stayed 3 nights in a private twin with bathroom. Good location 3 blocks from the bus station with English-speaking staff. Breakfast was a bit dodgy: for all 3 breakfasts, we were served slices of baguettes out of the same giant container... on the third morning the slices were toasted.. almost as if they were getting stale so they toasted them to hide it. The coffee tasted like it had been reboiled every morning for the past few days as well.
Good kitchen facilities only they lock up all the cutlery except for the forks! God forbid you want to make soup for dinner haha
Room was teeny tiny and smelled like mildew.. I'm going to have to throw out my hat because I kept it in the locker and now it smells like mold.

For environmental-types: the hot water is heated by burning wood and is available 24 hours. Not the most environmentally friendly..

I was there when the weather didn't allow for pool visits - so I can't comment on that aspect.
Based on the other facilities though... Unfortunately not great. The bunk beds feel very rickety, my room was very dingy and bleak, because of the lack of light it had a bit of a basement feel to it.

There are several near-starving street dogs around the hostel at all times that are pitifully begging for any food they see. I wish they could all be fed and happy and one can't help but give them food, but at least they should be kept out of the kitchen as it seems pretty unhygienic.

The staff was very nice, but that alone won't make for a good stay.

Some rooms are very small with just a tiny window.

The rest is all good.

300m from the coach station, same distance to access bars and restaurants.

Cool backpackers' place with nice terrasse to chat and meet up travellers.

Many locals stay there given the crowd in the pool ;)

And big positive is that they have several big lockers with a key where you can fit your biggest backpacks (80l + 50l + mattress and tent easily fit)

Title says it all. A tired place that is in need of a revamp. Dark, dingy and dirty. Wish we had been more organised & searched for accommodation sooner - not much cheap choice here.

We booked a twin & got 2 sets of bunk beds to ourselves, the only bonus to that was my bed was ok but my husbands had bed bugs, and the bites showed up after we had left (a delayed reaction with bed bugs is common). Avoid staying here!
