I rarely write reviews online but this was a no-brainer: Patricia, Charly (and of course Oso, the friendly dog) are the perfect hosts! You really feel that they want you to have a great stay - and they manage to do so with ease. They told us about what to do in Jujuy, their favourite restaurants in the area (La Picadita is fantastic) and even helped us with the rest of our trip through Argentina. From the moment we arrived we were treated like old friends (but don't worry, if you want privacy, you'll get that too).

With hosts like this it's easy to forget to say anything about the place itself. That would be a shame though: The cabañas and the garden are simply beautiful and the view over the valley is fantastic! Having breakfast in the little area outside in the morning sun was so peaceful as well. We hope to get back to Tilcara soon!

So in summary: Go (&book ahead to avoid disappointment)!

We spent 3 nights at La Calabaza with Patricia and Charly. And we had a fabulous time!!

My kids are about 4 and 8 years old and the grounds of the place were safe and fun for them to roam around, and so were their interactions with Oso, the resident dog.

The hosts, Patricia and Charly, were really helpful pre-trip and during the stay. They really went out of their way to reassure us of the rougher roads we were driving on to get to them by giving us the Gendarmenia contact number etc.

The cabins were fantastic. We stayed in a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom cabin and it was a real luxury to have 2 bathrooms. The kitchen is basic but still sufficient to make simple meals. The cabin was always clean and Patricia cleaned it daily when we were out.

No reservations about going back for sure. Gracias por todos Patricia y Charly!!!

We had hoped to spend our time in Tilcara in this wonderful B&B but unfortunately we only managed one night as it was booked up on the dates we wanted. Still, we were glad we experienced one night in our small but perfectly formed little cabana with double bed and private bathroom, built and beautifully decorated with local materials and artwork. We felt so at home! In our cabana there was a kettle with a selection of teas and coffee and cutlery and crockery to prepare our own continental breakfast, or, it was possible to order breakfast the night before for an additional 60 pesos. There were tables and chairs outside where we were able to enjoy breakfast while taking in the stunning scenery.

The B&B is located just outside Tilcara, across the main road and about a ten minute walk from town. It is located on the side of a hill so the views are outstanding and well worth the distance from town. It is convenient for buses, which currently stop on the main road near the gas station while the bus terminal in town is being renovated. The B&B is only 150 meters from where the buses stop.

La Cazabaza is owned and run by Patricia and Charley, two wonderful artists who were perfect hosts. They have a lovely dog who will come for cuddles if you want or leave you alone if you prefer (we opted for cuddles!). There are only two cabanas, one double and a family one that sleeps five, so book in advance if you want to be sure of a room. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and would not hesitate to return.

Patricia and Charly greet you as if you were their friends visiting. They are also very helpful and happy to answer questions.

While a bit of a walk from downtown, you get amazing views, tranquil garden and the center is so small, there is no need to be in it.

The room is amazing, decorated with local style, great heater and hot water, very clean and well taken care of. You get tea and electric kettle in the room and table and chairs with a view outside.

Can't recommend it enough and only wish we could have stayed longer!

Room Tip: A bit of a walk, but well worth it!

We had a wonderful time in the very cosy, clean and comfortable room of La Calabaza. It's located just out of town, only a few minutes away. Patricia and Charly are very welcoming and easy-going hosts who take good care of their property with love; flowers everywhere.
The room was small, but big enough. Spacious bathroom, all very clean.
The breakfast outside was the best part; amazing view over the little town Tilcara with mountains behind it. Home-made yoghurt and fresh orange juice, something you rarely get for breakfast in Argentina, delicious!
Definitely recommended to stay here!
