We stopped at the Oak Creek Vista Overlook on our drive on the Oak Creek Canyon Drive. This is the spot to stop and take a look at the 2nd most visited canyon. It is not the Grand Canyon, but is beautiful and it was a delight to stop and see the scenery.

Love this rest stop off Route 89 between Sedona and Flagstaff. It's beauty is amazing. I've been there several different times of the year and it's always stunning. There are Native American vendors set up most days who sell gorgeous jewelry.

A must see on your trip to Sedona. It took as a Cary drive to make it to the top but we got a great view and some shopping with local venders.

We took a ride to the Grand Canyon and came up to this vista by the long winding road up the mountain and it was awesome. Please make sure to get up here!!

I had read about Oak Creek and the vista overlook on TA before traveling but thought that it was going to be out of our way. Our GPS took us right through Oak Creek on our way north to Grand Canyon. It's gorgeous! The drive is breathtaking. I would not recommend the drive for someone who has just recently received their license or someone who may not feel confident driving switchbacks. Follow the speed limit and keep distance between you and other cars and you will be rewarded with the views. There are areas that you can pull off to the side of the road to take in the view or take a pictures before getting to the vista. Once at the top (vista) there is parking and restrooms. A number of local artisans sell jewelry. The items were very similar vendor to vendor. We stopped more for the views than the artisans. You could picnic here. Once you leave the vista you will be gradually traveling down the mountain again. The best views are those that you will experience from the south leading up to the vista. I highly recommend including this in your route if you are traveling between Grand Canyon and Sedona.
