We arrived to Matterhorn after a 2 hour drive from Phoenix. The hotel is situated in the heart of Sedona and is minutes from shopping, eating, and hiking. On the surface Matterhorn appears to be an old motel, but trust me it’s so much more. Please be aware, parking can be a little difficult at times. Most of the lots in front of the hotel will be taken depending on what time you arrive. Don’t worry, there are plenty of options around. The check in process was straight forward. The lady at the front was friendly and accommodating.

Our room was on the second floor. There are steps on both ends of the property that lead up to the rooms on the second floor. Our room was extremely clean with a view to live for. The red rock canyon and shopping below created an unforgettable ambiance. Most nights we sat on the balcony and people watched. The bed was very comfortable, I had no complaints. The bathroom was modern and well appointed. These rooms were certainly well maintained, modern and clean.

Outside of this property were shopping and dining options galore. Again it was situated in the heart of Sedona. You have access to pretty much anything your heart desires. I recommend Sedona Pizza Co. We had it on our first night and it was splendid.

I would easily stay here again. It’s now my go to whenever we decide to visit Sedona. You won’t regret your stay. It’s a solid 5 stars for me.

Pros:
-location: right in uptown Sedona so that you can walk to shops and restaurants
-balcony was large and views were fantastic. Request 2nd floor if stairs are not a problem
-room: newly renovated, large and well appointed. Includes fridge and microwave. Bathroom had nice large vanity and good storage. Bed was very comfortable.
-plenty of parking and pool/hot tub area was nice.
-large bottles of toiletries, hairdryer,

Cons:
- tried to call regarding an issue with reservation and it’s hard to get a hold of someone. You leave a message and sometimes they call you back
-since we were staying 3 nights, we were told we would get housekeeping once, but they never came. Only 2 pods of coffee supplied for 3nights.
-I left some clothing items in a drawer and they said they weren’t there. Probabaly got thrown away or housekeeping didn’t clean drawers. Called the day we left.

Overall, good place for the price if you want a comfortable room in a good location. However, if service is important, this was lacking.

I just completed a mother-daughter trip to Sedona and spent four nights at this inn. If you’re looking for a convenient, more budget-friendly place to stay, the Matterhorn Inn does the trick. The room was spacious and clean, plus had great views of the landscape via the private balcony. The staff were all very friendly as well. The walls are a bit thin, so you may hear your neighbors at times, but otherwise no complaints!

Great location, walking distance to shops and restaurants. Easy check-in, friendly front desk, clean room, and comfortable beds. Spacious balcony with mountain views. Greeted by a double rainbow upon our arrival. Would definitely stay here again.

The Matterhorn is one of the most comfortable rooms I've ever had the pleasure of staying in. Our room (212) was massive and well-designed with a king sized bed, large closet and comfortable places to sit. The bathroom is very spacious with a lovely shower and a separate area for the sink. All of that said, the highlight was the balcony with two different sets of chairs and fantastic views of the red rocks. We loved sitting outside to sip our coffee and even watched the moon come up over the rocks one evening.

All of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, and Carolina was exceptionally kind and accommodating. She made us feel so welcome and comfortable from the minute we arrived.

We hung out by the pool one afternoon and it was clean and the perfect temperature, with nice pool towels.

The location cannot be beat. Everything we wanted to see in Sedona was less than 20 minutes away, including Oak Creek Canyon which is a must-see!

I can't recommend Matterhorn more highly if you're looking for a fun, clean and comfortable place to stay in Sedona.

Room tip: If the parking spaces right next to the Inn are full you can park on the gravel behind the hotel or in the free parking lot next door.
