We celebrated our anniversary at Cucina Rustica. Like the other Dahl restaurants, they have a nice tradition of spreading rose petals on the table to celebrate special occasions. A nice touch. The restaurant was packed the night we were there, but we had a reservation and were seated quickly. Service at this restaurant is very good. There when you need them, unobtrusive when you don't. It was a little weird when our martinis were served in rocks glasses. The server said they had only 7 martini glasses in the restaurant. Really? (And I know how bad that sounds, but sometimes it's the little things that separate a 4 star from a 5 star). Appetizers were delicious - highly recommend the beet salad. Fettucine with clams and classic chicken parmigiana were up to expectations. A single guitar player provided entertainment and he was terrific. We ended the night with anniversary chocolate mousse. All in all a very nice night.

Although I have lived in the Village of Oak Creek for a few years, this was my first visit to this restaurant. The inside is lovely and the food was excellent, as was the service. Prices were not as bad as expected so maybe we'll revisit! Only complaint was that it was somewhat noisy.

That way we could get seated at the only table placed in the middle of a thru-way. Should have said something, didn't. But eh, could it get worse then having the only table that every waiter has to walk around and elbow you in the head. Next time we should make reservations a week in advance and we get get a table in the bathroom. I don't even know where to start. 15 minutes of just sitting around and someone actually filled our water glasses. I think that was the last time water was poured without one of our guests from out of town having to wave someone down. 10 minutes after that the waitress shows up with menus. Everybody ordered drinks. When those eventually came then we ordered our food. I ordered the cioppino which was on the daily special menu. When it eventually came, it was almost everything a coppino isn't. There were maybe 5 tiny clams, a couple shrimp that we over cooked, a couple scallops that were so hard and chewy I had to use a knife to cut them and more than half of the 4 mussels weren't even open. Someone had broken the shells to make the meat available. Then at the bottom was a clump of pasta that looked like someone had used a very small ice cream scooper to serve it with. The sauce was outstanding. After dinner I ordered a cappuccino which was served cool and without sugar or spoon. We had to wave the waitress down to get the sugar and spoon. When she brought the spoons, they were the exact same spoons used for soup. The dessert of tiramisu was amazing. What can I say. If you want to have a pretty bad dining experience in a very noisy environment (which on top of they bring in a musician) while having a horrible and I mean horrible wait staff while sitting in a thru-way. You should come here. For us to drive down from Sedona, no thanks. There are a lot of far better options.

We did not go to Cucina Rustica for over a year as we were disappointed previously because we had had a reservation and still had to wait a half an hour. We decided to give the restaurant another chance and were more than pleased. The host greeted us promptly and we were seated at a quiet table in a small room towards the back of the restaurant. This was great for those in our party that are hearing impaired. Our server was pleasant, funny and accommodating as well as efficient.
Our food was amazing! The Lizetta dish of chicken and shrimp were yummy and not heavy. The asparagus and broccoli were incredibly fresh making them a treat. At our table folks had carpaccio, caprese salad and other items that were excellent. I was more then pleased with our dinner and so were our friends. I am glad Cucina Rustica is at the high level of excellence I’ve known it to be!
